Read at own risk just needed to get my complete opinion and thoughts on the subject out and in some kind of semi coherent form.... :P
(click to show/hide)Xbox one is shaping up.....To be pretty sub-par actually kind of god awful. I mean regardless of anyone's personal feelings towards everything Microsoft wanted to do in the beginning they had something that could become a solid console for what is becoming a real part of the market. i.e. A more consistently online gamer, they wanted something that could try and tie their digital media lives together and also work with their digital social life, And if they weren't already there then just push them into it. Unfortunately they just either couldn't or didn't get everything done it seems they had 85% but the missing 15% was what they would need to tie everything together and drive it home.
When you then couple this with absolutely horrible presentations, and just incapable pr people. They couldn't even drive there point near home, It just died on the side of a road no where close to anything that possible resembled what they wanted... But this is just a third of the problem along with what appears to be a not quite ready console and a skeptical market. Everything just domino'd into the last third the people. I mean people were truly just bat-shit insane over this, (yes I know there were amazingly varying degrees but some people really lost there shit....) And it just spread like a wildfire over everywhere in the first few days and into the first weeks that Microsoft was just stumbling trying to put out fires that they couldn't regroup and figure out how to properly represent the entire Xbox one platform.
So all these wandering answers and just general vagueness is all they have because they just started ripping everything they had done away trying to put out fires. So now they just have an updated Xbox 360 with a brand new kinect, some nicer specs and a blu-ray drive. They took away the vast majority of things that made it different, Was everything they had new and unheard of? No, But they were bringing everything together in one device.
So Don't really know why I wanted to write this, Guess I just wanted to materialize my thoughts and opinions into one whole thing get it out of my head and move along.

Yea, how's GameCom for XB1 again? Remind me of it. And what launch titles are they bragging about? All I see is Forza 5. Rise of Rome's presentation and flawed mechanics won't save it. I really thought that game was going to be amazing. But just seeing the gameplay ... fucking terrible.
But let's get back again to what you said. They're shaping up? Go through the link and read. And then go back to GamesCom and tell me what did they bring to the table to offer.

No.
To express myself better - Microsoft is nothing but bragging about jack shit. I don't see the company moving forward in the right direction. But they did steer away from the bad direction. What is so fun about bragging? You do know the person who steered them in the wrong direction blew off the fans, customers and enforced his Kinect (name?) idea. Now he's gone from the company.
They moved away from the wrong direction, but they're no where near the right path. Kinect is going to be their selling point, at least I'd like to see how amazing Kinect is. But FIFA 2014? Why not Forza 5? Rise of whatever doesn't seem interesting at all. They're already selling the system at 500 USD.
Actually, I'm done here. I do not want to argue today. XB1 is a complete mess in its own land. Good luck to those who want to purchase this system.

Why do you make such a huge deal about GameCom like its the holy grail of releasing information. Its never been a huge outlet for releasing information. Just upcoming games and even then its hit or miss as most information is already about before the event kicks off. Sony is the only company that uses it for hardware information and any big release information. Microsoft has only ever announced fable at it. And they did not even have a booth at last years event. Nintendo the same way no huge news for Nintendo has ever came out of gamescom
But I do find some humor in that everyone was mad about always needing an online connection with the xbone, but out of sonys 33 launch titles only only 15 are retail compared to 23 retail from xbone. All the other titles are download only which needs that online connection everyone was so angry about now granted they are indie titles it was still one of the huge praises everyone gave ps4.
