McDonald's and its food...
« on: June 15, 2011, 08:57:39 AM »
Well, happening to me:
I've had these french fries for 1 month now, and they are still edible, making a test to see that how long they stay edible.

Well, they have been on my computer desk without any cover for the last month, I've tasted a piece every now and then, last time 3 days ago, the taste doesn't change and the hardness hasn't changed since the 2nd day.

So, what the fuck is the food in McDonald's made of?

Well, every other similiar places I can get french fries, the fries turn un-edible in 2 days...

and then they wonder why I usualy visit Hesburger instead of McDonald's... yes, Hesburger is finnish company, bit more expensive, but the food is more filling than the food in McDonald's...

So, any opinions on the subject?

When you get finally get food poisoning, are you going to talk about it here or in General Chit Chat?
It took an hour to write; I figured it'd take an hour to read.

I always find McD's chips to be really soft and soggy to start with - they tend to dry out a bit after I leave them for a few hours, but they don't get any nicer when they do. They're usually wayyyyy too salty as well. Burger King chips are usually much better.

As for what they're made of, It used to be a kind of processed potato paste. It was delivered to the restaurant in tubes, and they made the chips from that. That was years ago though, so I've no idea what it's like nowadays.

Pretty sure they use pre cut fries, because my dad does contract work with a major fry producer in this region and he says they buy fries from them.
But I can be wrong.

McDonalds supply policy varies from country to country, even from region to region.
In Finland, the fries are likely a Finnish product... unless, of course, they were never Finnish.

1000mAh, are your fries un-Finnished ? :D

(insert groans)

The only time I will eat McDonalds is in the middle of the night and I'm drunk. Eating McDonalds when you are drunk is best way to sober up.

1000mAh and his treads...

I personally haven't visited MCDonalds in years, let alone buy anything. All that attention they got years back stopped me from coming there. The only junkfood I buy is pizza, and that's usually only pizza with some water so it doesn't get too unhealthy.

May I direct you to the documentary Supersize Me or even just a clip, little warning for the weak stomachs though. Sure it's 6-7 years old and overly exaggerated but I really don't think anything major changed.

I eat McDonalds when I am out most of the time. Not too worried about what they put it in except for when they started branding things a few years ago 100% Australian Beef. I was like, "Does that mean what little beef is in it is now Australian or that the entire burger is now 100% beef and what was I eating before if it wasn't 100% beef?", but that is all.

Its not healthy no but it tastes good and I have a fast metabolism/don't eat it enough, so I am not worried. :P

McDonalds always tasted like cardboard to me. I once tried their breakfast and felt ill after a few bites. How the hell do you people eat that crap? Now I go to my local greasy cafe for breakfast - freshly made full english from a cute european woman, huzzah! - and local freshly made kebab shops or chippies, avoiding fast food like the plague. We have a guy who worked for KFC now work for us, and I've seen his comprehension of basic food and hygiene. Not going there again... Wetherspoons is bad enough. I've had to send shit back for coming out cold before now. The last few times I went to a fast food place, the only thing I bought was a coffee. I think Subway is the only chain I go to these days...
