What single malt would you introduce to a person who never drank scotch?

My friend somehow got his hands on some type of Jamaican moonshine once. We tried it. Barely a taste and I was already up there. The thing was, this stuff was nearly pure sugar. I'm talking like essentially half a 2 litre bottle cap. No alcoholic taste at all, but the effect was near instantaneous.

That is lucky lol wish my experience was the same. I have to say my back woods taste of moonshine was one of the worst lol

thats where the difference in filtering and ingredients come into play

Well, this stuff was made from fruits or something I believe. A slight hint of cinnamon too.
Moonshine AFAIK is usually made from corn?

Ive done whats known as many things but equates to 95% alcohol everclear infused with silly amounts of pot to get you thc oil and 95% alcohol that tastes like good weed smells @95% alcohol that is rather smooth goin down and no real burn

Holy shit 95% alcohol ... that's the kind of stuff you buy that's labeled as "fucking ethanol" ... can that even be drank without mixing it with something else?
I never drank anything stronger than ≈85%, and even 85% burned its way down my throat.

The fucking ethanol part isn't exactly at 95%. 80 proof (40% alcohol by volume) is flammable.... but you are right in saying that Everclear is "pure" ethanol (yes, you can use Everclear as ethanol fuel easily). On the other hand, Everclear wouldn't be my choice for "best" or "It will get you drunk the best!" My vote is reserved for Absinthe. Not only does that drink make you trip... it has a cultural following. It may not be alcoholic, but it has thujone. This thujone may or may not be the leading ingredient in making Absinthe a tripping alcohol versus something that will get you just reall drunk (Everclear).
