I play on the Joker (East) server. Name's Tiffany.

I know some of you probably heard about it. Kinda like a GTA clone but with amazing graphics and ridiculously good character customization. It's kinda like that, but with a bit of CS in there. And well, you can be a cop too if you want (I'm a criminal, somehow I enjoy sadistically running over random civilians! haha). Very fun to play. It's kinda like an MMO a little bit I guess. But not really. It was pay to play at one point, but it failed with that model and the servers went offline. A new company purchased the game (GamersFirst) and now it's back and it's free to play. They're using a cash shop free-to-play model instead.

It's not really pay to win either. You can pay to use more than 3 tattoos on your character or more than 7 symbols on your car, more than 3 on a clothing item, and it gives a 30% increase in rewards. You could play just fine without it. There's some weapons and other stuff on the cash shop too. But, they're not so powerful that you're gonna lose if you're better than them. They're just different. Like maybe a weapon that doesn't normally have a scope with a scope, or a weapon with a silencer on it, etc.. But you don't need any of that. You can own anyone with the starter weapon you get, no matter what they have. The starter weapon's pretty OP...

But yeah, it's really fun, and the customization is so crazy... You can pretty much make whatever you want.

APB? I remember it was a running joke both in the gaming industry and among the gamers for being the most short lived MMO ever released. Last time I heard of it was when they closed their servers down after like one month of release.

Most likely free to play will be a more successful model, after all World of Tanks is a F2P and they are earning tons of cash.

I will check it out though, might be a good comic relief in between all the clan wars in the WoT.

Edit: Hmm, just wanted to try it out and it seems that Europeans servers are down for maintenance for 8 hours, just my luck.

Double edit and first impression:
The game itself has potential, however as in most MMO, it gets as shitty as the people who play it. No, I am not referring to Tiff, actually I had a very fun time playing with her, but I am referring to the huge amount of /b/tards that are drawn to this game as flies to shit. The whole district chat is filled with:

"You faggots suck"
"Aimbotting fag"
"UMAD?"

etc...

Since we have such a lovely crowd, it shouldn't come as a surprise that this game is actually filled with aimbotters. No I am not just accusing people of that because I lost, I lost because I sucked, but then again it was my first try, so as a qualified noob I am allowed to suck the first day. No, the reason why I accuse people of aimbotting is because I have to a some level of degree a proof.

This blog provided an interesting screenshot of a forum from damncheaters.com which shows that their APB aimbot thread had 1795 unique views. Even if we assume that that would be the maximum amount of aimbotters out there, and spread them evenly among 4 servers, we would still end up with around 450 aimbotters in each server. That is a lot concidering each server has around 3000 players.

My conclusion is: cheaters fucked this game up pretty badly. However as Tiff said in game, it promotes the kind of gameplay that is appealing to /b/tards, so no big surprise there.

I will probably screw around in the game, maybe check out the other 3 servers and see if they are any better in terms of players, maybe I will steal Tiffany\s pink car when she is not looking, it's all fun.
