I still remember the news article of a farmer who wanted to save a buck and used human waste on his field. The nearby town had to suffer the smell and he had to pay a huge fine, that shit was hilarious  ;D

As far as I know, merely spreading wood dust on the shit (The shit you get after sawing wood) can remove the smell. I don't know if it's true.

theres some invention i heard about some years ago that uses shit and/or decomposable trash fumes as bio-gas, the out waste is a dry no smell bulk of earth.

I'm yet to see Bear Grylls eat it. So I'm not eating it.

There are several things we could theoretically do with it actually. One of the most interestings on the long run is most likely Thermal depolymerization. Basically, we could change organic matter (like shit) into oil. Right now there is only one plant which uses turkey offal and the current prices are about $80/barrel which isn't competitive but it's still a new technology and prices should go down with time. Oil, on another hand, will become more expensive.

Shit burgers? What will the Japanese do next? Figure out a way to make nuclear waste into an indefinite fuel for cars without buying a new car? God I love the Japanese, best country in the world next to Italy (I like cars better than people :P).

Anyways, I would probably have to see it first. If it looks like regular meat, and then TASTES like regular meat... I wouldn't see the problem with it. Protein is protein. It's not like the burger is actually made of shit... but just a part of it was made from shit. Just like we don't eat the entire cow (skin, bones, and everything else)... we only eat part(s) of it.
