Everyone knows that if you don't read EULA, you will end up as a Human CentiPad  ;)

Also I was thinking more about hosting games, especially non BF3 ones. Shitload of AI in Sins and SupCom is a part of the plan. Not to mention Arma 3 will be coming out and that one will be a CPU hog.
For one thing, Tiff is not on any level what I would call a typical American.  She's not what I would consider a typical person.  I don't know any other genius geneticist anime-fan martial artist marksman model-level beauties, do you?

Heard that the recommended specs will only be able to push the settings till medium before it hits dirt and unplayable FPS.

Then no one would of been able to play the Alpha... yet a lot of people (on youtube) were able to get very stead FPS with Phenon II x4's and GTX 460/ATI5770 AND be able to us FRAPS while doing it. That's with ALPHA, a very buggy build. :P

If you heard, would you mind telling us where you heard it from? Either way, we will get to see for ourselves next Thursday if we are able to run the game or not on high without getting dirt FPS. I mean honestly, the console versions are probably somewhere inbetween low and medium detail. If the recommended system specs can't run the game better than medium detailed, DICE is doing something wrong. :P
Well I read it here. http://www.bit-tech.net/news/gaming/2011/09/23/battlefield-3-recommended-specs-only-good-f/1

The community manager said it? I mean, he works at DICE, but there are are countless people on youtube running the game on high details on single videocards for the Alpha months ago. Do you really think that a single 6950 or a single 560 GTX cannot handle the game on Ultra? Maybe not at really high resolutions... but we'll see for ourselves if our computers can handle the game.

I'll take what the community manager says with a grain of salt... for now.

EDIT: Community manager is a dumb fucking shit....

Well I'll just try the beta then, when it comes out.

I'm just saying... would you believe the community manager's twitter or someone who works on the actual graphics of the game and knows the Frostbite engine.... twitter...

Correct, we will all find out if we can run the game. I know I will be able to run it on high... cause I'm not trying to push the amount of pixels that most people will try and get. :P

Well the community manager guy definitely had to get the facts from somewhere, he is the medium between developers and clients.
But if for some weird reason this turns out to be actually true, guess I'll be revising my new system build.

It really shouldn't be. I mean if it is, then how do you explain the Alpha footage?

There are plenty more with people who are using 460 GTX's and ATI 4850's and the like. I mean, you're going to need a good card to play the game... but to require CF/SLI cards just to run the game on high (Ultra is different story)... then one high end card is enough.

Ultra on the other hand, to squeeze out that extra 10-20% will definitely need CF/SLI cards... that's just fact. :P

What is your build anyways?

Gonna wait for the new LGA2011 or Bulldozers first, if no new solid gfx card series is out by then, will get a GTX580.
I've already pushed my current i5-750 + GTX460 as far as it can go so maybe I can sell it off and used the extra money for SLI, didn't have the funds to go all out but now I should be loaded enough and ready.
I do more than just playing FPS and RTS on max quality so this needs to be a solid investment.

WOW...

You act like you have an Athlon 64 and an ATI 3450. Battlefield 3 will be a demanding game, but nothing a midrange i5 + a good GTX 460 can't handle.

This is bump worthy:

Battlefield 3 Beta Low versus Ultra graphics

So apparently the game looks almost the same comparing low to ultra. The only things I noticed that were different is A. The resolution :P B. Destructible stuff gets broken down into different things (low destroys into a generic pile of rubble). C. some nice effects.

Other than that... the low looks ten times better than the console versions, I know that much is certain.

I guess that the Frostbite engine isn't designed to have crappy graphics  ;D

Or that having a recommended rig only gives you prettier things to be distracted by. :P

Apparently a single ATI 6850 can handle everything Ultra on lower resolutions (1080p and below) and still get 45+ fps. Happy days for me (I'll see about that tomorrow when I get to play the Beta on PC).

I've been playing the beta and i love it. The graphics are amazing and the lighting effects are crazy amazing. I love shooting RPGs down hallways just to see the light from the rocket go down the hall.

Oh, you are right about that. I am totally going to turn off the shadows so I can see those pesky snipers in the bushes better.

The snipers are still pesky, but using a controller for Battlefield is... *admitting defeat* frustrating *long sigh*. The snipers aren't that hard to find (it's the lens flare... NOT the red dot sight)... but the farther away they are the harder it is to spot the lens flare. The cool thing about sniping is that if you are hiding in some bushes, no one will ever see that lens flare when you crawl back into the cover of the bushes.

I've been doing a good job as the support gunner. Nothing is more satisfying then laying down hundreds of bullets and getting triple kills. I heart my M249 with flash suppression. My bullets be flying at you with no warning! :P

A lens flair? Interesting way to reveal the snipers. Looking forward to trying the game even more. I remember in the good old BF2 you had to look for a black stick looking out from the bushes.

The devs said they will make the sniper easier to spot to make him more unattractive. They know that a lot of people used the sniper.

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

Yes... as if the sun was at the exact angle that it would flash in your eyes if he is pointing the gun in your general direction (basically, if he can see you through his scope... you can see the lens flare).

The Red dot laser is different. That's just an annoying red light that fills your screen saying that someone is pointing their gun at you. LOL

So far, I havn't been overkilled by snipers like in BC2.
