Yup, only able to change settings once you're actually in a match.

Ace... I think this is how the game is gonna work. The game launching from the browser is the actual game menu. At first, I was like "yuck... just fucking give us an in game menu and be fucking done with it."

Then it hit me.

Yes, the menu is annoying when you want to play single player. You gotta launch the web browser and then click single player and then you wait for it to load and tell you it's ready for you to play. What happens when you are waiting for a multiplayer match to start? I started scrolling around and looking at my stats and what stats they tracked.

I dropped my jaw.

This is suppose to be like CoD: Elite. Instead of having to log out of the current game your in to check these stats... just ALT-Tab your way out of the game while you are waiting to spawn and you can see all the stats you want. Let's be real, you wouldn't be able to see your stat trackings if the stats page was an in-game menu. But with the launcher and stat tracker as a a web browser, you can check your stats mid-game.

It's not like the web launcher is innovative or anything. It's just seems the same simplicity wise (as an ingame menu)... but allows people to only really look at stats midgame. That's the only plus I can think of to having a browser based launcher. Cause wouldn't the game be just the same if it had an in game menu without the ability to look at stats midgame? That awfully sounds like the console versions of the game. :P

AceHigh:
I don't care about stats. Besides you could see all your stats from in-game in BF2. I will search DICE forum for an answer on that shit.

I knew you'd say that... but does it make playing the game a hassle for you? Or are you just being resistant to the way the launcher works because it's always been in game? Honestly, it ain't much of a difference for me... but if it's that game breaking... write a letter. :P

It isn't game breaking, it simply removed 2/10 in score from the interface. Meaning it worsens the playing experience. Something doesn't have to break the game in order to make it worse. It is a multitude of minor issues that separates a decent title from a top title.
