Battlefield 3
AceHigh:
Starting up a game browser so I can play a game is a damned hassle. What if you want to switch from singleplayer to multiplayer? Do you need to exit the game and re-enter it from the fucking browser?
I found out more about this, yes it will be in final release. So if you want to tweak your graphic setting or controls, you have to be alive in-game in a match adjusting those settings with bullets flying over your head.
No pre-order or any kind of purchase for me. BF3 is dead to me since the last real BF game was BF2. Have fun playing a COD clone, kids.

Something doesn't have to break the game in order to make it worse. It is a multitude of minor issues that separates a decent title from a top title.

Menus are now part of the playing experience? I saw no real issue with it... IDK... maybe I'm dumb.

There is single player where you can tweak your graphics? In all honesty, it is an extra step to switch servers or switch from single to multiplayer to co-op. Is it more of a hassle? Yes. Will it really detract me from the actual gameplay? I don't see why not. If your basing a game off of how the menu is setup... then you're too worried about the wrong things in a game.

Waaahhh! Wahhhhhhh! Wahhhhh! Will do! :P

The playing experience starts from the time you start your game to you quit them. Everything in between is a part of the experience.
Do you like closing down your client and starting it up again ever 4 minutes until you find a good server?
Now I see why Steam is not selling it. They would probably set up a user friendly solution where the whole thing is set up on the steam client which you can bring up in-game pressing shift+tab. It's pretty clear what kind of "interaction restrictions" EA was talking about when they mentioned Steam.

Yes you are, but that goes without saying.
Almost forgot to mention that horrible in game option interface where every time you click on a button you get that eye wrenching annoying tv flicker effect.

Hey, no skin off my nose. I'll be enjoying the game while you'll be... I don't know... doing something else? I'm not the one getting butt hurt over a game. So you might be the "gaming enthusiast" or "gaming purist"...
Guess what? I'm a gamer. If you think a gaming experience is based off the menus along with the rest of the ACTUAL gameplay.. then Battlefield 1942 fucking sucked. I had to wait MINUTES for the damn loading screen to load the map. Then by the time I got into an online match, it ended and switched to a different map. I would usually get into the game when each side had already gotten a flag each. Did people bitch and moan about that "experience" for 1942 (just how you are bitching and moaning about the browser based menus)? Yes they did.
And you know what? People still regard that as a great game. I don't know, I think focusing on the actual gameplay makes a game... not the menus. If the menus really bother you, don't buy the game like you have already said.
Then again, losing people like you in a game like Battlefield 3 is like losing a zit. With you, you'd just make the rest of us look bad with your ugly head. Without you, we would still look like idiots with a big red mark where the zit was (aka using those menus)... but at least we are enjoying a fun game. ;)

Dodging my question are you?
