That's why it's called a Teaser and not just a trailer. They wait to bait people to watch the whole trailer next week. I heard that the ad campaign that EA will be doing with BF3 will be extensive... so we all know this is just ad fishing for people to be excited next week. :P

Having said that, the unrealistic games you mentioned are precisely the type of games I like.

I'm going to say that I disagree with you... realistic gunfights (where you try to use cover, get an angle on the tango, and then shoot) is more fun than just running AIM DOWN SIGHTS, SHOOT, SHOOT, SHOOT til their dead. That kinda redefines what arcady gameplay is. Battlefield aims for the other end of the spectrum. Most fans of Battlefield since 1942 think that the "Battlefield" formula worked well back than and it works today. If you like unrealistic shooters, congrats... Modern Warfare 3 is the game for you then (because you will die a lot in BF3 if you bring that attitude to an online match).

Btw, who saw the new teaser trailer? It's freakin awesome!

Realistic gun fights easily stretch over several hours with only sporadic near-aimless shooting. Then you end up in the morgue or spend the next 6 months rehabilitating. NOT FUN.

AceHigh:
BF3 is not a realistic shooter.

OP Flashpoint/ArmA/ArmA2 are.

TMRNetShark:
I never said Battlefield 3 was ultra-realistic or even realistic. I said realistic gunfights are more fun than running and gunning. Why? Because it requires strategy on top of being able to aim and shoot someone. Snipers have to work to take out entrenched LMGs. LMGs have to keep suppressive fire to send the enemy in a different direction. Engineers are there to keep your team's vehicles running and are able to take out enemy vehicles without a vehicle themselves (through RPG's and landmines). Soldiers are the only real class that can push forward into enemy territory and be able to capture points and hold an area until snipers/LMGs can come to support them.

That's a little more realistic than say... "Yeah, I have Ghost Pro... Hardline... and etc." Team mates don't really have to help other team mates to win, so the person with an inferior setup or isn't as skilled gets slaughtered in deaths but the run-and-gunner gets rewarded? I mean, I understand why run and gun gameplay is fun... it's just I think the Battlefield formula is better.
