Buffalo HD-LBU2
Meomix:
Bought this external HD from the local japan shop, since the drivers are not in english i went to the main site to download the drivers only to be met with a big fat fuck you.
Searched the torrent sites and internet only to be redirected to the main site, somebody said something about the serial number being on the barcode? The only barcode i found was on the package and that did nothing.
If you have the drivers for this model a pm is greatly appreciated.
rkruger:
All external USB drives normally follow the standard USB mass storage specification, and no driver should be necessary (it is included in the OS).
Or are you perhaps referring to their special Toolkit?
What happens if you just plug it in? (Could be that it simply requires formatting before use.)
Meomix:
The HD is working fine, almost forgot FAT32 was ancient and then converted it to NTFS, i witnessed on the other EX HD's that formatting instead of converting it to NTFS damages it's stability.
I simply want to install the drivers to activate the GUI interface.

It should be in human-readable format on a sticker (or engraved) directly on the device, possibly together with a barcode.
It may also be possible to retrieve the serial number by means of software while it's plugged in, but I don't know how to do this in Windows, sorry. Perhaps someone else in the forum has experience with this.
Meomix:
Was finally able to get a hold of my own damn EX HD dad being a bitch as usual, searched it to find a barcode under it which was different from the package so i think that is the serial number, but before that we now have another problem.
When i boot my computer with the Buffalo HD-LBU2 attached the computer is unable to reach the desktop and keeps restarting, dad said the same thing happens with USB sticks, how do i make the computer reach the desktop without the USB HD seizing it?
And how do i change a primary partition to a logical one in windows 7?
