Fake Microphone input?
(1/1)
Tiffanys:
Alrighty... Well, I didn't tell you guys, but my Logitech G35's (after long and horrible problems) ended up breaking and I ended up getting some Sennheiser headphones, and they don't have a microphone. However, I am now in need of certain microphone functionality, and I'd rather not buy a standalone microphone.
So basically, I need some software that can treat a pre-recorded audio as microphone input. Ideally, I could bind certain ones to specific keys on my keyboard and when pressed it would stream the audio files as if they were genuine microphone input. It'll also need to work in various games natively.
As for the sound files, I don't need any help with that. I can just use various synthesizers or record whatever ones I need somewhere with a mic myself. But they will need to be able to function somewhere without microphone capability.
Of course, I could also do random amusing things like playing YMCA, Bieber, or porno. Haha...
So pretty much, I just need some kind of fake microphone software or driver or something. Anyone have any idea what I could use to achieve this?
edit: I found Virtual Audio Cable, it works for what I was wanting. Just need to be able to hotkey specific audio files now.

things like ventrilo have it built in so you can switch your mic output to another device and likewise at least on my creative card i can swap stuff around on that
