MPC with windows 7?

(1/3) > >>

kenshin-dono:
so im still klinda outa comission with my laptop for watching anime on the bigscreen, so i havent really watched anything but BD's and DVDs for months. My father is wrapping up his HT setup though and i think i can actually finish up some of the series i had stalled on back when my system died. Should be interesting watching these on a 130" screen.

anyway, the PC he has that i can probalby view these uses windows 7. Im not familiar with that at all. I tried bringing some AMV's and fansubs down to test on it and some AMV's worked, but not all, and pretty much no fansubs worked (it wont play MKV) It seems to just have the stock stuff installed on it. I figured i'd just d.load MPC-HC pack and run that, it should work right? I think i remember hearing windows 7 didn't work with all renderers on that though. WHat should i use? I belive i used Hallii with my older XP laptop.

Figured id just double check with you guys before i installed and fiddled with the settings. Tnx

MPC-HC + EVR custom preset. You don't even need any external codecs for common fansubs.

btw, the Haali renderer is practically abandoned.

from what i've heard. this is better for win7. or was that for x64.

anyway, uninstall your MPC and codecs before installing this or cccp.

CoreAVC should be another addition to your arsenal too.

THAT, shark is what I use. Spice it up with MPCHC and if you have a capable graphic card squeezed into that HTPC of yours get madvr going as well.
