@Temuthril dont need the links to CCCP MPC pack, i know about that. I was just asking what renderer option to use with it once its installed, i havent used it on windows 7

btw, the Haali renderer is practically abandoned.

thats what i was asking about. So for windows 7 with the CCCP pack its best to use EVR custom? Haali worked pretty good on my slightly older XP laptop. What about MadVR or any of the other ones?

from what i've heard. this is better for win7. or was that for x64.

anyway, uninstall your MPC and codecs before installing this or cccp.

CoreAVC should be another addition to your arsenal too.

hmm both you and vuze seem to suggest this shark007 thing.. ive never even heard of it actually. Theres no MPC installed on the new HT pc he has, its a fresh system with just the stock stuff. Im debating just trying this shark thing. But ive never used it before, it may be better to just use MPC-HC that comes with the CCCP pack since thats what im more accustomed too i guess. Unless this thing is way better. It seems like its supposed to work with windows media player though, which im not a fan of. Can you use it with MPC?

You also mention CoreAVC, that was the other thing i remember hearing about but never used before. Is that a codec or what? and should it be mixed with either the shark or the CCCP that comes with MPC?

*EDIT*
for now im doing the MPC-HC thing with the cccp pack since thats what im used to i can change it out later. Question about EVR though, what filter should i use? bilinear or bicubic? i think bicubic is the best bet right?

vuzedome:
Well you can use MPCHC and shark together, which is a whole lot better that way. But I'm not gonna push you into using it if you prefer sticking with CCCP.

EVR is good, and bicubic is fine. But try Haali's or better yet, get madvr going.

If you can play 1080p on uber settings with what CCCP has then it's fine, no need to go get CoreAVC.

namaiki:
madVR (lanczos or spline, maybe softcubic50 if the others are too sharp for luma upscale) which has been mentioned should be much better than bicubic, and especially on that huge screen.

kenshin-dono:
ya... looks like it couldn't play the 1080p file on my fathers computer. The op stuttered like hell. This is robertas blood trail btw, i saw a lot of people complaining about it so i dont know, maybe its just not a very good encode?

Several of you mentioned madVR. Is it worth d.loading and getting that going or will that not run either? Im guessing if it wouldn't run in 1080p properly with EVR, then mad VR is out? Maybe its time to try that shark thing

kitamesume:
is there any good combinations of these programs to boost picture quality? specially on upscaled 420p >,> been trying out settings, so far i made the 420p almost look like a 720p.
