lol when i was 13 i had near 10k posts on a mmorpg game forum, and nearly all of them was replying to hate since everyone outside my guild hated me....i found it funny people got so worked up on the internet, wouldn't dream of stopping.

Same for making an ass of yourself, why care? chances are there people you will never see.
The trick is to hide behind a nickname. If things get to wild, just make yourself a new identity. :P

... And they disabled forum nicknames because of this reason. Still it was fun impersonating this jackass that was pissing me off back on yahoo gaming chat had to waste an email address managed to utterly ruin his reputation.

Another one in chat is when i didn't want to waste email addresses but decided to use the space bar to impersonate people, managed to coincidentally get 3 people accusing some dude as a masochist. (-‿-)

Speaking of alternate identities...

does anyone here remember Ylil Ylail?

The linear nature of your Euclidean geometry both confounds and befuddles me.

And has been for a week or two. Btw, I like it, it's cute.

On-topic: The first time I went online from home was with one of those modems that would scream at you when you logged in, and my time on the internet was limited to 1 hour/day, 2 on weekends. My school had internet, too, so I wasn't completely without experience, though... aah, the golden age when MMORPGs were entirely text-based and known as MUDs. I kind of miss it.

You can't really compare MMORPGs to MUDs imo...
Some really good MUDs are still active btw, if you like them that much.

That reminded me of the first time I played an FPS. CS Condition Zero at a LAN party, when I was 10 (...yeah, I know, right?). It didn't help that all my friends were experienced. Still, we played for hours, and by the end I was pwning as much as any of them :)

You guys have no idea what you're talking about. That was the clarion call that heralded one's entrance into a brighter world, a world full of wonders and mystery, an ungoverned place where one's wildest dreams were the limit, and beyond those limits were unknown regions, tantalizing, awe-inspiring and frightening all at once. It was the sound that bid farewell to grey routine, the sound that made one lose one's past, the sound that levelled all differences, how one looked, what others thought of one and thought they knew of one, nothing mattered any more. It was the sound that announced ultimate freedom, the freedom to define oneself instead of being defined by others. One had no past and no future, there was only a glorious ever-changing present.

No, that is no sound of nightmares, it is the sound of a dream, a dream you have while you're wide awake, a dream you can live.
