I already have a laptop so i don't realy need a second one, and the suggested tablets have gotten some pretty bad reviews, mostly because win7  seems to be bad tablet os - low touch support and medicore battery life with a  tiny interface.

kitamesume:
nah, i meant those type of tablets, didn't exactly meant them. amd c-50, atom n5xx are decent enough.

like this:
[450$]DELL Inspiron Duo (iMD-3487FNT) Tablet PC (Foggy Night) Intel Atom Dual Core N550(1.50GHz) 10.1" 2GB Memory DDR3 800 320GB HDD 7200rpm Intel GMA 3150

i like the tablet/laptop hybrids just because i could fit a larger HDD in it~ but SSD is a must, more battery life.

i dunno about the other OSes though, the problem is that if they support codec programs like CoreAVC and maybe CCCP at least?

HiddenJumper:
The problem is Tablets aren't cost effective. I sell tablets when I work, and while its nifty and overall most do what they're suppose to do, they also have several downsides (including a good portion of them don't even have SD slots for expansion which is a problem from some people).

For the price of a tablet you can get a lightweight 13.3inch laptop that does more. My g4 HP laptop plays 720p video (haven't test 1080p yet) just fine, and its lightweight. I just can't justify the cost of tablets at this point.

Once the hardware gets equal to or better than where laptops are currently, they just aren't worth it (unless if you're filthy rich and can afford stuff like this).

Tablet PCs are a step in a decent direction but aren't quite worth it either. Most of the customers I had buy them said they use it as a pc (very rarely use it as a tablet).
