So Mozilla has decided to copy the Chrome version nomenclature....ins tead of naming this FF4.5 they made it FF5.

FF5,6,7 aren't any different as far as I can tell (except most addons don't work with 6 or 7). I run FF5. Just recently they added compatibility for more of the Addons.

you can practically mod FF's layout, i took out bookmark bar and menu bar(press alt to show menu bar LOL), more viewing screen for me~

It updated to FF5 for me but no visual difference so far. Actually back when I got FF4 I customized it to look like FF3. Looked too much like Chrome for my taste. And I don't like how Chrome's interface looks.

The only thing that I care about is Adblock plus addon. As long as it works with the FF version I use, I will not change to another browser or update to a version that doesn't support it. There is nothing out there that single handedly changes browsing experience more than Adblock plus.

They are being stupid with Firefox. When they drop support for 3.6, I will probably drop them. If I wanted my browser to look and feel like Google chrome I would download it. Chrome is trash and Firefox will be soon too.

Is opera any good, I've not got the chance to try it.

Opera is good. Last I checked their add-ons was the only reason not to use it. Might have improved since then.

opera renders some pages strangely, and it used to handle torrents with a dumbed- down integrated downloader. it does have the nice turbo feature tho and it resumes from the last session you were on, but is quite a bit slower than chrome. it also has some handy developer features. you could also try safari.

Opera has the strictest rendering machine of them all. That's a double-edge sword.

I am using Firefox right now. I just switched from Chrome, after going to Chrome from using Firefox... For some reason, Chrome killed my internet everytime it started, so I'm using FF.

I don't use any addons. I just hope this Firefox doesn't have as many memory bugs as previous versions.

I'm seconding opera despite being an open source fag.

firefox is just easier to bloat with all those tasty looking addons.
the fact that having lots of bookmarks also makes firefox slow is another.

Even if FF is slower than other browsers on tests, in practice it is still faster because it never loads up all those ads that most web pages out there have.

^Last time I checked, FF was faster than the most popular browser. You know, the abomination that we shouldn't name because it could make some of us vomit.

But I agree, I don't like that FF looks more and more like chrome. People wanting a chrome-looking browser should just install chrome.

I agree that FF default look is like Chrome, of which I disapprove as well. However I provided a link that shows how you can revert back to the old look in 2 minutes.

yeah. i still prefer fast startup/close though. (which is what slows down in what i said in the previous post)
there are other ways to make ads not load though (and it's for any browsers and not just FF). like HOSTS blocklist or proxy ad blockers or admuncher.
