$114.99 with free shipping and a $55 rebate, for an end price of $59.99 ... IF your rebate is accepted and received.

Well, sold out now. So, I guess other people didn't feel the need to be so cautious. Also, have no response from Newegg at this time. I'm definitely gonna visit that product page a few times in the up-coming months and see if any comments get published about the rebate.
Sure would'a been sweet to get an SSD at ~1 GB (formatted! no less) per dollar.
On the upside, I grabbed one of these:
- Western Digital Caviar Black WD7502AAEX 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s for $49.99.
They've been reduced to $59.99 as standard and I squeaked in a -$10 promo code about 15 minutes before it expired on the 4th; it was an "Easter Egg" deal that wasn't published anywhere ... just accidentally ran across it when looking for performance specs. I'm beginning to wish I bought two, either to RAID 0 them for speed or to use one as a mirror for the other as data security.
I bought a pair of these 750 GB drives that are WD7501AALS 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s last August for $70 each, when they were on special from $90 each. They have treated me very well ... silent, cold, reliable, fast, and still more than 4 years' of warranty left on them.
If I don't get a good deal on an SSD, this'll probably be my main drive for my new build; if I do manage to get an SSD, then this will be my primary applications drive. It will still be plenty fast and reliable.

A 60 GB SSD for $115, plus a rebate that could bring it down to $95:
- OCZ Solid 3 SLD3-25SAT3-60G 2.5" 60GB SATA III MLC
I really hate the "reward card" system, and this one has no option to receive a check instead. They get to retain your personal information for two years, and you are automatically bound under an American Express cardholder agreement.
Might do it anyway ... but that's selling out a lot of rights and personal info for no reason.
[ EDIT: Sorry about the double-post ... I replied to the topic before I realized I was the last person to post to it! :-\ :-[ ]
