philippines has highest electric rates in asia
Pentium100:
--- Quote ---The study had shown that with average retail rate of electricity of 18.1 US cents per kilowatt/hour in the Philippines, it has eased out Japan at the top of having the most expensive electricity in Asia. As of the same month last year, electric rates in Japan were at 17.9 US centers per kilowatt/hour.

I pay 16.9 US cents for 1kWh, but this is because I get discount because I use more than 12000kWh/month. Normal people pay 18.65.
Amounts are based on Google's currency converter from LTL. I pay 0.41Lt/kWh, without the discount - 0.45Lt/kWh.

how much is the average rent of 1bedroom dorm/apartment or something on other countries? here its no less than 200$ a month... theres a few @ 100$ a month but the space... ugh its practically a bed, a small table and a cabinet...

For a one bedroom, bath, living room/kitchen combo is around $600-$800 in Philadelphia ($600 for the shitty stuff, $800 for some mid range apartment).

yea 1 bedroom non studio apt in phlly goes from 500-1400(from shitholes to nicer areas over by chestnut hill area aka luxury apts) but if you earn any kind of money it makes much more sense to live outside of the city if you dont work in it. Since 4% income tax in philly sucks my dick

That's what I do... Not to mention I want to be as far away from New Jersey as possible.

0,151 dollars / KWh here right now in the summer when the price is around half the winter one.

So the price isn't all that much higher in the Philippines.

well~ if you considered it took our tax to build a dying nuclear reactor that hasn't been used for more than 10 years? yep it is expensive ;D plus wasted money to build a nuke plant... sigh the stupidity.
napocor and meralco is acting up and saying theres a shortage of electricity in philippines and sending out rotating brown outs(brown outs for a couple of hours on cities in alternate), they're requesting to activate the nuke plant but sheesh the people just kept rejecting the request.

Since I pay Php10,000 or more on my electric bill due to what my family frequently use (3 Airconditioning, 2 desktop computers and a theater room).... uhhhh... But recently, I only payed 9k due to the fact we are "saving" now...
When seeing the meralco (ONLY Philippine electric company or so I think) bill, you would see there are breakdowns of the total amount of what you are going to pay... SInce I recently payed 9k... I should only pay 4,800 since its in my general amount but there are taxes and shit... Also, the distribution which amounted to 2,885.. If I may ask, what is the distribution for??? :o
