to make it simple, meralco isnt the source of electricity, their job is to transport electricity from the real source of electricity(i.e. napocor) to your front door. meralco owns the electric posts, cablings, electric towers and so on, they're the ones who wires the electricity through the roads and into your house.

in short: meralco does not create electricity, they distribute it.
