Moe indeed. I loved the first two Bioshocks, and I'm sure I'll love this one.

I won't be surprised if a lot of gamers end up falling in love with Elizabeth, Irrational Games have really impressed me with her. Sure, the gameplay and setting is great, but think Elizabeth and Booker's interaction is going to be the main reason for playing this.

Hopefully I won't get motion sickness from riding on the rails, I haven't gotten sick from the videos anyway. ;D

It's called the human element. Alyx in Half Life 2 really played a big part in the human element of the game and really helped with the story. The first two Bioshocks had you and you alone in mysterious places...

Yeah, I really hated the loneliness of the first two, really unnerving... That was probably the point though.

It doesn't really seem like bioshock. It's too colourful. Although it works well with the change in companionship. I'll keep an eye on this. It's intriguing hew they've changed the direction quite a bit this time 'round
There must a be a reason for tanking things. And all must be in certain balance.
But what that balance is, must depend only on you, nobody else.

You act like that's a bad thing? They did it was Half Life 2 (changing the direction from the first game)... and guess what.. that's what keeps sequels fresh.

The game just doesn't scream "spiritual successor to System Shock" anymore (I just love Sys Shock and want more stuff like it).

Ps. Anyone seen Gametrailers E3 awards? Absolutely ridicilous.

Dead Space is more like System Shock 2 though... Bioshock is like.... an acid trip on wheels?

Now that you mention it... Ha, I never really even though about Dead Space actually being so similar.

It's not a bad thing, just unexpected.

The loneliness was one of my favourite parts of the game; it really made the city feel "abandoned"

It didn't feel that lonely, at least not as bad as the first Silent Hill.  In the first one you even had crazy people talking to you on the radio and everything.  The second you teamed up with someone toward the end, and (if you were feeling lonely) could summon a big sister to come kill you just by picking off little kids...lol
Huh?

For me, nothing will match STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl for the sense of fear and isolation.
All you have to do is study it out. Just study it out.

Stalker doesn't really cause fear (to me at least) and it's by no means isolated, there are quite many other people all around the place (tons and tons of friendlies).

Not all, but a large part of the game. For example I will never want to go back to those underground labs.

Right, it's been ages since I've last played the game so my memory is a bit hazy, especially from the later parts of the game.

Why are we talking about isolation and fear in Bioshock Infinite? We have a moe ass side companion (and I mean that in every sense of the word) while the only fear I'll probably have in Bioshock Infinite is fear of falling off a rail and plummeting to my death blow.

Going back to what I said about Stalker not causing fear... Well, I installed L.U.R.K and ever since I've hardly found a single LIVING HUMAN being during the nights (which are pitch black, you're just plain doomed without nightvision o_o).

Why are we talking about isolation and fear in Bioshock Infinite? We have a moe ass side companion (and I mean that in every sense of the word) while the only fear I'll probably have in Bioshock Infinite is fear of falling off a rail and plummeting to my death blow.

I really just don't like the idea of a companion in a Bioshock game.  ::)

But things have to change to stay refreshing, I guess.  :-\
