Oh wow Ragnarok 1 was such a nightmare this is a massive improvement, at least now it can be a normal grind fest instead of a nightmarish marathon.
Did you know Satan was supposedly gods RIGHT HAND MAN, not his left. Blows your theory out of the water now doesn't it.

I miss the days of Ragnarok Online. I want to be a helpful priest again. :)

This looks a lot better than the beta I played back when it first came out.

Is it just me or do I faintly remember playing Ragnarok Online 2... around 4 or so years ago? Well, playing is a bad word, trying it ought to describe it better.

That's what I was mentioning in my post above. I played an english-translated version of the original beta or alpha way back when.

I see. Didn't read into your post. Still the music from the first video brought the memory back, I loved the music more than anything else from that version(whatever it was) at least.

Seems very... traditional.
If it's anything like RO1 was, it's going to be very fast paced.

Well, looks very tradtional lookswise. And yes, I know that RO1 was fast paced (used to have an acquaintence whom showed me private servers, was a mindf*ck (even then slower ones)).

I'll try it and see how ... different this is from other MMOs ... meh. Grinding levels = sucks.

Well if its a quest base-leveling I'll play it. If its still a grinding level like they did on RO 1 no thanks. :P

RO1 was pure grind. As soon as it became pay to play I stopped playing, it wasn't worth paying for.

The linear nature of your Euclidean geometry both confounds and befuddles me.

Isn't that just par for the course in these type of games?
Not saying it doesn't suck, but I don't pick up a game like this without assuming that I will have to either grind or stay mid-low tier. Dont even talk about factions/reputations, lol.

Anyway, pic in OP kinda caught my attention as it is nearly identical to the LOTRO UI. (which is a game I just hit the grind levels for and am quickly losing interest.)

Don't know, I used to run around maps with a few mates from my guilds. Once you used to get a wizie, a priest and a hunter it'd pretty much end up as adhd as counter strike, so it never really felt like grinding to me.

I kind of liked that it'd encourage exploring maps teaming up and the like, instead of going get me 10 limbs from that guy in this map, now give me 10 from that one, now 10 from that one... ad infinitum or get to the min lvl to enter a raid, now raid with the only change being the dungeon every 5 or so levels.

Also, war of emperium used to be blast, can't think of anything else that even nears the amount of clusterfuck as having 3 guilds attack a castle while 3 guilds are defending one.

When you grind for-ever? I don't want to grind forever because "lol so awesome grinding still haven't hit max level!" to avoid end game content - like PvE/PvP (open world and instances) or farming and selling stuff or crafting/creating some sick equipment. It shouldn't take you more than two months to hit max level in all honesty if you play like 20ish hours a week. Leveling is great, grinding the shit out of things to gain that one level in a week is pure gay and a waste of time.

There wasn't too much grinding in the game, since the game was, to a degree, plot driven.

There were a lot of miscellaneous quests (the kind where you have to do an errand for grandma.. etc) and there were plot-driven quests. The quests usually gave a pretty generous amount of experience, and the requirements were usually reasonable stuff (like go beat up 6 of this monster, or get me 10 of this drop.. etc.) I was always working towards some kind of quest. I don't remember ever just going out and killing a monster just to level up: it was always to get some kind of quest drop.

Also, more videos have been uploaded :) Such as:
