Normal Sleeping...
zat0x91:
I usually have to change my sleeping schedule between two different 'modes' if you would want to call it that because of work. Adjusting from going to bed to say anywhere from 2-4AM and then needing to wake up 4-5AM in the morning the next day will be almost impossible; so I just deal with it, get tired, and take a nap that's three hours long when I get home - any longer and you would probably mess up your sleeping schedule. This is the case tonight for me...
Tylenol PM works fine for only short-term but like the previous poster mentioned, just watch how much APAP you ingest so you don't fuck up your liver. Might as well just buy another solution that contains only the DPH so you don't ever run the risk of too much APAP.
I had severe insomnia starting from 6th grade and the only option I pretty much had to function was to take prescription pills; Geodon and switched to Trazodone years later. It's not that bad, but you better either get fucking seven (preferably eight) hours of sleep or prepare for one of your worst days of your life; I could compare it to at least two days minimum without sleep if not more. I forgot to refill my prescription a few times and I've gone dry while being dependent on them... Not very fun...
I managed to break my dependency from them last year by slowly taking less and less (not exact, but whatever, fuck using a scale) over a couple of months. Now I can sleep like a normal person.

Psh, I run on 3 to 4 hours of sleep year round.
Though I would echo the suggestions on forcing yourself to stay up some ridiculously long amount of time, then letting your body knock yourself out :P

I have been taking melatonin for like 4 years now. It used to take hours for me to fall asleep, when I take melatonin it takes me around half an hour and I sleep straight through to the morning. No side affects except for awesome vivid dreams fairly often D:

Hmm, I used to pull all-nighters, and then go to school, needless to say, I wasn't able to perform well, but it was necessary to get my homework done. I'd do one of the following things-
- sleep a few hours when I got back, and then wait until I was supposed to sleep
- sleep fully out although that forced me to stay in bed quite a long time while not being able to sleep
- go out and run 4km, it's enough to make you tired though you have to wait until you're supposed to sleep
- watch one movie before sleeping, put on a no-brainer movie like Transformers
what not to do-
- play a game
- drink coffee (you don't really realize it's late until you look at the time since you don't feel sleepy at all, but it's also hard to get sleepy once you decide to hit the sack)
ichigoTAN, that sounds really unhealthy, perhaps find a game that doesn't require you to miss out on sleep?
I've been sleeping somewhat normally since I finished studying, and I feel great. Then again, am almost 23 instead of 20 when I started studying...

where did my last post on this topic go O.o?
ohh well, the most effective way to put your self to sleep is jumping off a building, simple right? no waking up though. other than that, waste your self until you cant move a finger, like run 10miles under an hour or or hit the bench and crunch your body 100times per set, 10sets.
