Defense of The Ancients...
vuzedome:
Who cares when you're usually playing with anons, zap em then say sorry, followed by a smile.
Lion and Lina, pretty easy to handle, smack them before they see you coming, and it's pretty obvious you don't try to face either alone.

I haven't played DotA in ages. :'(
I really liked my Barathrum build. Let's see if I can remember this correctly :P
I think I'd go for two bracers quickly, then s&y and then whatever the game required. Either more damage, more attack speed, more armor or something like linken sphere.
I'd get bash first. Then the speed aura and stats until ulti at 6 and start killing people all over.
Then depending on how well I'm doing I'd get a fast charge or hold it off till later.
I would primarily focus heroes that are alone and/or agility/intelligence because they typically have low HP and low armor.
I don't think I ever lost with that build on public servers :D
I also liked playing with meepo. It's intense but kinda hard to lose.
I'd always play to win the game, not get the highest score.
Sosseres:
That is a good point, there is plenty of difference between a high score and playing to win. When I played DotA in clan wars I was usually the support character. Heroes like Rylai, Lion, Warlock, Dazzle, Ezalor or Dark Seer. Heroes whose skills don't scale all that well in the late game, so building them with items is a bit of a waste. Warding/courier being a better use of their gold, well that and minimal farming, carries need that more. The thing I needed to work the most on (still do I guess), would be ganking, I always play a little too passive, liking the 50 min games. :p

50 minute games are horrible if you have a support hero. After 20 minutes there's nothing to do other than maybe push one lane for a bit :P

Well one hero that is very hard to kill when late game is probably tinker... why?... Due to the fact that when you get your preferred item for nuking along with the Ultimate skill of refreshing cooldowns, you get an insane overpower and mobility.... LOL... I never used Tinker BTW, that's a fact...
