Warcraft III Version..

I have just installed my Warcraft III TFT again so I could resume playing DOTA and I was wondering if would it be alright if I upgrade the version of Warcraft using the Warcraft Version Switcher or do I need to install an official patch first before applying version switcher?

If you're using version switcher then I might as well just assume you're running the *ahem* tool as well.
It works by the way but it's better to upgrade it properly with the patch.

I use garena and I always go to Philippine channels and most channels tend to use 1.24e version but some uses 1.26a version (the latest)... it is quite troublesome to stick to one version so I plan on using version switcher...
