How would YOU translate "マクロの空"? "Mighty" is fine and poetic, but the lyrics clearly use "macro" there.
Macro sky sounds somewhat awkward-ish, and some reasonable synonym was used in it's place by Animeigo.

I'll admit it's awkward...but those are the lyrics...

As I said, "Mighty" is fine and poetic...but is it accurate?

As long as it gives the same meaning. For example, Patlabor OVA has things like "metameta mechameka" in lyrics: would you leave that in translation?

It would depend...obviously, the name of the show in question is "Macross," so I figured that any appearance of the related word "Macro" should remain.

So yeah...if the Patlabor theme had either "Patrol" or "Labor" in the lyrics, I'd leave them untouched, even if it sounded a little awkward in English.

But it doesn't. "Mighty" isn't a translation of マクロ (makuro)

The bigger question for me is...will the anonymous person who uploaded our first 34 episodes with Pineapple Salad's last two episodes delete their torrent when our version is complete...?

I hope so.

And when did we ever accepted that batch?

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

True. Very true.

Which brings me to my next question...

For the Galaxy Network complete batch, we want to do "Macross: the First Decade," including books, pics, soundtracks, TV episodes, movie, OVA...the whole works.

Would this be okay for BakaBT, or no?

They would have to be offered as separate torrents. Please see the below link for examples of how they would be divided (i.e. TV series, OVA's, soundtracks, movies, artbooks, etc.).

So which version is preferred to upload: smaller (G_P) or grainier (GN)?

Well...I think you should go for Galaxy Network...

...but of course I'd say that.  8)

Uhh, where/when was it decided that G_P should go up?

Also there is another group doing releases that are using the Galaxy Network ones as their base. They are labeling it as a "Special Edition". For the releases they are filtering out the grain, and adding in the English dub and English audio commentary.
I hope this gets accepted once they are finished, it seems silly that GN cut the dubs in the first place.

I would agree with this, except I'm pretty sure the R2 remastered DVDs that GN used didn't have the English dub or commentary audio tracks in them.

Got any old fansubs on HDD/DVD/CD? Please take a look at this thread.

Due to lack of responses I just thought "what the hell" and offered my version.

Won't hurt to try. Some people do prefer yours over G_P, so there's a chance a D slot might be approved. I personally prefer GN, even though it's too grainy for me, I still prefer that over G_P.

Of course you can offer it. Please do so. I'd much rather have the grain.
