Thats the tram map.
Metro map:
Then we also have commuter trains and busses. Well, the easiest way around in Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa & Kauniainen area is to use busses or Train.
In Herlsinki it would be Tram.
...and subway if you want to get fast into the big areas that have lots of things. (more malls, etc)
Also, The commuter Train from Helsinki to Kauklahti takes about 30min.
Helsinki is just like a normal city, expect smaller. You find a lot of drunktards, etc from there. (as well as from Leppävaara and Espoon Keskus) But that just tells you where the pubs are

But to be straight, here isn't much in Finland to see. at least on the metropolitan area. just shopping centers, parks, and pubs.
only few good and neat looking beaches. but the Lakes are worth seeing. at least on the evening when they are all silent. you might see few fishes.
You could also waste one day effectively at Linnanmäki.
The difreence between Espoon and Helsinki is that Espoo has less malls/shopping centers and more nature

Hell, I live in Espoon Keskus and am able to see forest from my window
and suburban? Whole fucking Finland is suburban. here is 5 375 276 finns in a country around the size of Japan.
(that amount is from late December 2010)
Halsinki is only a nearly a city, there is only over 600 000 finns living in Helsinki, and in Paris there is 2,1 million. yeah, that is nearly half of the whole population in Finland. The only things to see here really are forests and lakes. ...and lappland.
but if you want to see buildings, then go to Helsinki, it will remind of you from St.Petersburg. Only that Helsinki is smaller.
But well, you could go to see the olympia stadion in Helsinki, yes it is called olympia stadion, korkeasaari, that is a zoo btw, or seurasaari. finnish nature and history on its best

and of course Linnanmäki and the National Museum.
but nothing else, that is all.
sry, I did write longer than I tough I would
