Firefox to Chrome extensions
« on: August 06, 2011, 12:11:00 AM »
So i'm considering to change over to chrome as my main browser (me and firefox doesn't function so well together anymore). But I have a problem finding replacement for these extensions

chrome addons work differently from firefox ones. for one, they usually cannot be as integrated in the browser as firefox ones.

try your luck asking in chrome/google forums. they should probably be able to help you out more.

I don't blame you for going over to chrome. I have no idea why firefox is so intent on copping chrome, If people want chrome they will just fucking download it.
If you can't find what you need maybe you should consider "downgrading" to firefox 3.6. I did and I will use it forever! or until mozilla realizes that chrome can be got for free so there's no point in an inferior version of it floating around.

There's ChromeItLater for Read it Later

As for the others, try ChromePlus

Chromeitlater was just what I was looking for.

  • save image in folder
  • tab mix plus
  • Read it later (so far I have found "read later fast", maybe there are a better alternative?)
  • Firefoxs panorama (maybe there is an extension that can do the same?) found something that resemble it, even thought it is just grouping saved session.

I will try chromePlus to see if they complete the last two, but if it don't, then I will just keep using firefox when I'm collecting wallpaper.

@scudworth
three things
-How exactly is Firefox copping chrome?
-Why is newer version of Firefox inferior?
-There is no way in hell I'm moving back to 3.6, it is as slow as hell.

-Firefox now has a similar UI as Chrome

One of the reasons Firefox is slow is beacuse of the addons installed. I think TabMIxPlus is one of those extensions that slows it alot

I believe "copping" should have been "copying."

As for the UI appearance, there was a video linked in the Firefox 5 thread in Technology on how to revert your browser's appearance to version 3 while keeping the latest version.

nope had changed my own UI in firefox to be as minimal as chromes before the launch of firefox 4, only thing that changed was the new button for options, instead of needing to pres "ALT".

yep Firefox gets really slow with some addons, but I was talking about 3.6 being unbelievable slow at loading sites.

I also thought it was weird when scudworth wrote it, but thought it was a new way to write copying  :-[

Google "define copping." It's actually another word with another meaning, so it's understandable that you can make that typo even with spellcheck.

Scudworth has no need for trivial things such like proper spelling/grammar, basic reasoning abilities, reading comprehension, the ability to count past 10, bladder control, teeth, sobriety, a bone density rating of over 800 kg m−3, more than 46 minutes of sleep per night or logical arguments!

As long as Scudworth has his dancing Mr. T gif. he shall rule you as your new king!
