How. when and where did you learn to swim?

I never learned, which is actually pretty embarrassing. It's on my "list of stuff to learn someday".

Whenever I get around to learning, it could pose a real challenge because I start freaking out if I can't breathe freely without delay so water of any significant depth can be intimidating.

Like most children, my parents signed me up for a course when I was 5 or 6. They paid good money for some stupid bitch to push me off the diving board. I hope the show was worth it, Mom. I hope the show was worth it.

Erm, embarrassing I guess, but you're not alone because I never learned either. Mom brought me to the local parks and recreation program when I was little, but I just never got the hang of it. Like most athletic type activities, I'm just really bad at swimming (or trying to swim). ^_^;;

That it was. And I am still a crap swimmer and not fond of the water.
