Advice on a pissing cat

(1/7) > >>

Tatsujin:
We got a cat and she loves to piss on our couches. If the couches don't satisfy her, she goes and pisses on other belongings of ours (cloth on ground, or the mattress, or whatever that's basically cushion or whatever). I'm pretty fed up with this cat. We have two bathrooms and both are consistently open through-out the whole day ... with the exception of someone using the bathroom. We have her own letter box, two separate ones - one in each bathroom. So earlier this morning, I decided to be aggressive and I put the cat in one of the bathrooms (the bigger bathroom) and locked her inside. The lights are on inside that bathroom. There's no soft or cushion materials inside that she could practically piss on besides the letter box.

I want to see if she's going to piss inside that letter box or somewhere else. We've already checked her for UTI and it came out negative. Any advice?

kitamesume:
spray lemon scent on spots the cat always piss on that you dont want to get pissed on, cats hate citrus scent if i remember correctly.

try to get some of the cat's piss and put it on the litter box, they always locate their favorite spot by scent, similar to dogs.

Ixarku:
The wonderful thing about pets is that they are family members you can give away.  I had this problem with my ex-GFs cat years ago when we were living together... my solution was to move out.

Sosseres:
Don't have a cat. Solves all cat related problems. So I agree with Ixarku.

Roven:
For whatever reasons when your cat pees somewhere, the cat will think it's natural for it to pee so long as the the scent of her urine still exists. Cleaning the couch/carpet/bed normally wont get rid of the scent, the cat will recognize it and pees there again. Anti-Icky-Poo works wonders for me, not only does it remove the scent, it also partially remove the pee stain.

But that wont solve the source of the problem. Do you have any other pets in the house? Cats sometimes can get jealous and pees (in my case my cat pooped once).
You can always train the cat not to behave that way, a small hit on the head everytime the cat behaves badly and/or lock her in a room could teach the cat.
If you have a backyard and know your cat wont run a way you could take the cat out once in a while, but NOT when the cat is in season, unless you already got it neutered.
My cat gets out of the house all the time and comes back whenever she's hungry or need to use the toilet, yes my cat is toilet trained, saved a lot of money.

Edit: Cats also pees in places near windows sometime to attract males.
