I saw this thread and for the longest time couldn't think of anything to really express my acknowledgement to Houk.

Mad props.

Well, I wish I didn't have 30mbps down and 1mbps down.  Asymmetric lol.

Those are two downs XD

My seedbox has like 100 Mbits/s download and upload... so that's about 12 MB/s up/down?

Well, you know wat I mean...

Where did you get seedbox from?

Seedboxes improve your ratio nicely I've heard. Too bad they can't come to my house to collect the money.

I suppose I'm doing well at 320GB uploaded with my 50KB/s upload speed.

Amazing achievement, now if his name wasn't so hard to spell and remember.

^its easy, memorize "houkou" and "onchi" as a separate word. and combine it when you write it, lol.

Thanks for all the congrats guys. I don't lurk on the forums (mainly just on IRC) as much these days so I didn't see it =P

I haven't seen him bragging about it. now that's what i call awesome.
wonder if he's using as server/seedbox or home connection the entire time though.

As someone else mentioned (correctly) I seed both off my home connection and my colo'd machine. My home connection is about 75 megabits up. My colo has 2000 mbits of upload capacity but I am pretty much limited by number of seeders and disk I/O more than bandwidth on that box.

I limit speeds severely during peak usage so it doesn't increase the billable (95th percentile) usage of the connections I am on so my bandwidth usage on bakabt pretty much doesn't cost anything on my colo'd server (my home connection does run $215/month though).

I should go into stalker mode and go steal all his anime. I know he used to live in corona but im guessing moved to pomona/chino if he got fios lol. Only 15 minutes from me.

Yup! I used to live in Corona and now I live right on the border of Chino/Ontario, heh.

I also just bought 90TB worth of hard-drives to add to my already 100TB (combined storage of all my machines) so I have about 200TB of storage total right now.

I actually have downloaded several TB off this site but a lot of them have been freeleech (1080p) or during the freeleech period. The only time freeleech was actually tracked (as freeleech) was the first time it happened and I know I downloaded almost 800GB just during the first one and even more on the second one.

My average upload rate is quite off due to the fact I used to upload a lot slower than I do now so its slowly increasing my average. Just in the last year my upload average has gone from 3.10 MB/sec to 5.08 MB/sec.

My real average upload speeds (lately) are around 18-20 megabytes/sec on weekdays and 26-30 megabytes/sec on weekends.

Its amazing how much I was able to increase seed speeds simply by using torrent clients which were more I/O efficient.

To get 100Mbps down / 10Mbps up where I live I have to spend $385 a month...I wont spend that much on internet.

hmm, I/O. I did a bit of a googling and i get the gist of how it works. but how do you determine that a torrent is "i/o efficient"?
number of leechers?

also, that's an insane upload for a home connection. what do you use it for other than torrenting? because $215/mo is darn expensive for just that.
