I agree... but the slow start was really refreshing... and the twist at the end! I didn't expect that!

Cliche in what way? I thought the first half of the episode was very unique... second half of the episode was like done in 6546518465246573543 other animes. :P

I'll be following this for a time at least.
Seems to me that most harem anime, except for Love Hina, don't start with the boy automatically being hated by all the girls. And here, our boy has a sister, who has made friends with the war leader of the opposition, so that should have some interesting dynamics.
It's all just variations on a theme, but to see if they do it so we want to watch more, well...
