CS:GO is going to be cross-platform with PC and PS3 (confirmed, sorry 360...). The good thing about this union? PS3 users CANNOT use Auto-aim... or essentially, it's one input method (keyboard+mouse) versus another (PS3 controller).

I challenge ALL PC gamers to buy the game and play against me. I am actually quite interested to see the results of how console players will fair against PC players. With nothing to base it off of, I know from playing CS myself on PC that it is MUCH easier to aim and shoot with a mouse... but I will try my god damn hardest to try and beat PC players with a PS3 controller (and proceed to teabag them

).

Knowing Valve, Purchasing a copy of CS:GO on the PS3 will probably get me a code to download the PC version too to my Steam account.

game will probably have all kinds of fun anti-lag and much bigger hit boxes for the ps3 players. And i cant imagine them leaving dev con as open as they do now cuz config tweakers combined with a kid getting 1k fps= exploiting engine fun

Ok, if there is evidence that the PS3 version has bigger hitboxes or anything that will give the PS3 an advantage, then I'm not buying the game period. I'll stick to playing Source and 1.6... and even those player bases are splintered enough. Add in CS:GO and give an unfair advantage to PS3 players? Even bigger of splinter (actually, no true CS player will buy it probably).

Trust me, mgz... I want the exact same playing field as PC users on my PS3 version. No handicap whatsoever.

yea and you wont get it because every kid on the ps3 would /quit the first week because mouse and keyboard is infinitely better when it comes to fps gaming. A mediocre pc gamer shits all over the best controller player. Microsoft allegedly did tests a while back to try cross platform took some pc players and the best console players and the console kids got wrecked and the project was scrapped. The lack of competition vs pc gamers ruins it for console players.

I still would actually like to see the results (that MS did)... and I would still want to see a cross platform FPS between consoles and PC. Regardless of what everyone thinks, we must first prove that PC gamers will shit on console gamers in an FPS. We can never assume (cause that ain't scientific enough for me

I mean, I'm not sure... but I THINK Valve has already done cross platform testing between the PS3 and PC and there wasn't an issue of unbalanced-ness. Actually, here is the interview.

increased hit box sizes =/= autoaim it just means your aim doesnt need to be as good to hit. It usually equates to the tard with the controller getting more headshots then he earns.

And im not 100% sure but i dont think you can use your mouse and kb from your pc i might be mistaken.

The better question being is there as many buttons to bind when using mouse and kb on ps3 in a game like this would it let me use like all 8 or so buttons on my mouse for shit and the keyboard buttons i want, or force me to use a shitty aswd setup

Any USB mouse + keyboard works. I've used my PC's unified USB logitech wireless keyboard+mouse on my PS3. It had no use except for FF11.

I know what increased hit boxes are... -.-

And like I said, if there is EVIDENCE of that... Well, at least it will be familiar to hardcore CS gamers:

AKA: I'll stick to CSS and 1.6 if there is evidence of hitboxes. There doesn't seem to be anyone from Valve that is saying the PS3 version will get handicaps, so you are just putting words into their mouths(for now). If the PS3 users have bigger hitboxes on PC gamers, then fuck GO.

Gamepad players will get completely slaughtered with or without computer assistance. Valve is crazy if they think a gamepad can match the speed and precision of a mouse.

I guess I'll get back in the saddle with Global Offensive, unless it sucks or Tactical Intervention turns out to be better. I played CS for a really long time, starting in 2001 or earlier and quitting a few years ago. I never played CZ online, though.

i thought they confirmed you can use mouse keyboard for PS3 copy?

anyways. . .is it me or is the graphic department lacking a little?
I dont know but I played BF:Bad Company and for some reason the graphics seemed better in BF than they do in counter strike, and given the fact that this is still in beta, I would've guessed they would've started out with some superior graphics engine. . .iono since I have only seen youtube videos I really cant stop and admire the scenery

CS:GO uses the source engine. Good thing too because it's fast and smooth providing for very accurate gameplay. Counterstrike is not about graphics it's about the gameplay which is hindered by the use of bleeding edge technology which doesn't always run good 100% of the time.

I know Counter Strike is about Gameplay, (CS1.6) so far I havent played a better FPS. . .EVER!
the punishing-nonforgiving-system is amazing!
you dont respawn with full gear and shit like BF or MW. . . anyways, thats CS 1.6, given that we're in 2012 and that a new counter strike is being made, I cant help but to hope that they have graphics al-par with BF:BC or something even better. . . I hate discussing with n00bs MW/BF fanboys that keep talking shit about CS. . .

So either they make a new engine, and put it on there, or it's going to look like shit.

CS:GO will be like Counter Strike Condition Zero... just an update to graphics and that's about it.

The only NEW things that GO brings to CS is the Molotov cocktail and the new aiming cross-hair graphics.

well. . .I mean I love counter strike for its gameplay and I really hope they dont change it, although from what I've read the "official" matches are going to be 5v5 which, in most maps is boring. . .to be on larger groups you have to create a custom game.

Anyways, I really dont mind them keeping the same mechanics, I am just a little dissapointed if they keep the same engine and the graphs arent really "outstanding"

I mean. . .iono its not like they're re-working CS, they're not starting from scratch, they could just focus con getting some kickass unreal 4.0 engine graphics or something . . .cmont hey do a 1 million dollar DOTA2 BETA tournament and hey cant spend a little on a nice graphic engine?

Well, to be honest... HL2 and CS:S's graphics were top notch when it came out 8 years ago and was pretty solid with hardware. Now a days, the Source engine does show it's age... Oh well, way to focus on the wrong game there Valve! Give us HL3 already!

they're not that important to me, but I am surprised, I mean as you said, HL2 and CS:S had amazing graphics for their time, given that I would've assume a development of a new shooter game that is supposed to compete with the big shots COD and BF they would do some extremely nice and appealing graphics. . .given that its Valve and they have enough $$ for it

I mean CS 1.6 > COD and BF (gameplay-wise) . . .and Im hoping they wont disappoint on CS:GO

Oh, and the 16v16 (or even the 12v12) games of Office or dust weren't clusterfucks and people got multiple headshots not because they were THAT good... but because there was some idiot blocking another idiots line of view. The "smart" players would always take the paths that had the least amount of people. Yet when their entire team dies while rushing, it's now up to 2 or 3 sole players that will slowly get picked off by the defending team! I always found that less players equals better tactics (not always, but slows rushers down a bit), so I think 5v5 caps seems like a good medium. Five people can obviously camp 2 bomb sites but there is no way 5 people can camp all of the routes to get to each bomb site. Happy medium?
