Kamogawa is a seaside city in the Chiba prefecture. There lives Kyouno Madoka, a student at Kamogawa Girl's High School, and the only member of the Jersey Club. Madoka prides herself on being bright and energetic, and spends much of her time helping people.

However, her life changes one day when the mysterious girl Ran asks her to "pilot a robot". In order to protect the citizens of Kamogawa, Madoka agrees and engages in battle against extraterrestrial invaders.

Madoka and Ran are later joined by Muginami, and the trio works together to protect the Kamogawa seas, piloting robots calls Works.

Note: The first episode premiered at a special event at Kamogawa Auditorium on 23.12.2011. The first regular TV broadcast started on 08.01.2012.

The site will release more information on August 19th of this year. The anime should start airing early of 2012. Haruyuki Morisawa (Illustration Work) and Madhouse (Animation Work) were involved in Toaru Hikuushi e no Tsuioku (BBT Thread) project which should release in Theaters in a month and a half. There is no information available on the Animation Work and Chief Animation Direction for Rinne no Lagrange, yet.

Either way, I have a feeling this is going to turn into another Ano Hana series.

that might be, but it's a term mostly attributed to girly stuff.

Well, in the end it was girly, slightly dark and unexpected, but love and friendship was still there. Thankfully not on Nanoha level.

First episode was OK, this can really go either way. But I'm leaning slightly towards bad, because it had many elements that I associate bad animes with. My guess is it will end up in the same vein as Heroic Age, Soukou no Strain, Simoun etc - great concepts that are never explored, just circulating around flat characters, and finally ending as an average/fine series. Hopefully I'm wrong and it will end up as a Stellvia.

And yes, that image is so unrepresentative for the anime

That OP made this look like exactly the kind of anime I'd love, but then everything I've heard about it since has made it sound less and less interesting $:-\$

I suppose I'll give it a go once a decent quality copy of episode 1 is out, but I've pretty much lost all interest in this already. A slice of life romance type-show like the OP suggested sounds much more enjoyable than an anime about schoolgirls battling with mechs. Hopefully it'll still be a good series anyway, but from the looks of it, it's not really my kind of anime.

even with the low quality the animation (once its released) looks pretty awesome. . .its a keeper in my book, I hope it gets good. . .

they had this comedy thing going on which gave it a different twist for a mecha anime
