Gamescom 2011 – The VG247 liveblog starts now.

* Microsoft Play Day – Tuesday, August 16: 12:30pm CET, 11:30am BST, 6:30am EST, 3:30am PST, 8:30pm Sydney
* EA press conference – Tuesday, August 16: 4pm CET, 3pm BST, 10am EST, 8am PST, 12:30 pm Sydney (Aug 17). Livestream details here.
* Sony press conference – Tuesday, August 16: 7pm CET, 6pm BST, 1pm EST, 10am PST, 3am Sydney (Aug 17). Livestream details here.
* NCSoft press conference – Wednesday, August 17: 9am CET, 8am BST, 3am EST, 12am PST, 5pm Sydney.

Gamescom 2011- Sony conference sees PS3 drop to £199. Most of the conference is there. I wonder if Microsoft is going to follow suit and make a sorry ass excuse for dropping the price on their units "OH, WE WERE GOING TO ANNOUNCE IT SOON ANYWAYS" like the last two rounds, right Microsoft? Lol.

Resistance: Burning Skies. On Vita, stars a different new main character. Damn worth it.

Sony gamescom asset extravaganza: Twisted Metal, WipEout 2048, Sly Cooper, more. Native 1080p. 60 FPS. Beautiful colors please. <3

Forza 4 screens and making of Hockenheim video released. You wanna give us a 1080p native game with 1000+ cars and a real audio system, Microsoft? Oh wait ...

Uncharted 3 shots and trailer sneak out of gamescom. Go nuts!

Maybe i'll watch some of the streams this year, but i won't bother going there... (Although it's only 20mins from my home)
Wasn't really able to play anything last year because most games were only previews and not playable -.-

I can watch Videos at home too...

I can watch Videos at home too...

The reason to go would be to be a spectator of the e-sports there. Things like Dota 2. Though those can be viewed just as well from home, just as any regular sport can. You simply lose a lot of its allure when not surrounded by a crowd hyping it up.

E-Sports aren't really my thing

Two years ago was nice, you could play a lot o new games to get a look at them.
Played the old Version of D3 back then. But last year that was almost impossible. There were so few games to take a look at through playing, that you had to wait 4h+ to play 15mins.

As far as I know, NCSoft has playable demos of Guild Wars 2 if you're interested.

Wait a sec, that doesn't sound right, was it in Germany? It sounds more French than anything. Quick look in wiki... Town name: Köln.

"Aha, that city" I thought as I immediately recognized the name.

Any way on topic and a speculation on my part:
NCsoft better announce their final class, however they said before that this class will be controversial. As we all know after release of the first Guild Wars, mesmer was a controversial class. Further more, if you look at this picture of the armour you will get for title points in hall of monuments, you will see that light armour certainly has a resemblance of what could be a mesmer armour. Now I know that you can put that armour on any class, but don't you agree that it has mesmer-ish look? Anyway this is mostly a wishful speculation on my part, but I really hope that the final class will be a mesmer.

Yeah, I hope that the last profession will be Mesmer too for one reason. What is it? Well, there will be no end to the bitching if it is not the last one.

Mesmers were always a pain in the ass in Guild Wars 1, wonder how they'll work in Guild Wars 2 (because there are no hex spells or disruption (as main function anyway)).

More than anything else I want a damn release date (that will be kept).

Agreed. Got hyped when I heard it was going to show at gamescon so I played like 150 DotA games over two weeks (don't feel that urge any more after hitting 7k rating at ICCup, was enough). I'll miss like half the content due to work though, wonder why they picked times that early in the day.

Dark Souls gamescom trailer, revel in brutality. Oh ya ...

There seems to be a lot of information I've been missing. I don't see anything amazing from Microsoft and Nintendo is yet to have a conference. EA's shaping up pretty well. Sony's had a half boring and half amazing conference.
