Stuck deciding between 2 GPUs

Is there any reason for the hyper inflated cpu and ram? a 2600k will give you the same performance for much less..

2xGTX560 < 2xHD6870 < 2xGTX560Ti < 2xHD6950
GTX560 = HD6870 < GTX560Ti = HD6950

Most LGA1155 boards won't give you native dual x16 x16 on the pci-e lanes, only dual x8 x8, which is why getting a LGA1336 is still a better option.

Last I heard dual 8x will not slow single gpu cards down.  That was about a year ago that I heard that and I don't have a source, but it might be worth looking into.

That's what I heard as well. LGA1155 obviously provides the best CPUs on the market, too.

1155 boards lack numbers everywhere. Most are limited to 6 SATA ports (4 SATA II, 2 SATA III) too, because of the chipset. I had to do a special search to find one with 8 ports total.

But in any case, waiting for LGA1356 to release is best, as they are supposed to release sometime in Q4 this year. Not to mention you're limited to Bloomfield and Gulftown i7s for 1366, whereas 1155 gives you more options in the Pentium area as well.

I have to wonder what LGA 2011 boards are going to offer aside from quad-channel RAM.

v Yes, we like our epeen. =P
Isn't LGA2011 supposed to release in Q4 2011 and tri-gate supposed to release in Q1 2012?
