Ep 03 out and ... looks like it's getting better.  :)

[WhyNot] and [Commie] have some very interesting divergences in translation at several key points.  Kudo's to [WhyNot] for translating more background signs & book titles & such, even when not needed.  Nice touch ... and a key letter is translated @~14:30 that [Commie] didn't.  Was it necessary for the plot?  No.  But, helped set that scene even better with it.

We get treated to a beautiful reading segment from the Little Bird story.  Hope there's more of that ... seems inevitable as it also seems tied into the main plot.  Some great artwork touches throughout the show, this book and a painting Yomi is working on.

for this show

I'm in love with it. The OVA arc started and it looks delicious. The alternate universe animation is so damn awesome.

I've been right from the very beginning, This is a true gem among recent anime's !

I have totally NOT understood the lack of interest &/or hate on this show.  It's a lot of fun.  I think it's got one of the better mixes of psychological and action ever blended.  Very dramatic switch between the abstract/surreal and "reality."

One of the fansub group pages I visited actually had a comment like: 'too bad there is so much school girl crap cause the shooting the fuck out of things is teh awesomes.'  I have a hard time thinking that a group with that attitude can possible do a decent job on an anime where they totally miss out on what "awesome" means.

The only thing that's starting to wear on me is the vocals for the OP.  Her voice is starting to irritate the fuck out of me.

We are now at the point where OVA started, leaving us with 4(?) episodes of main arc.

As for the OP, I actually like it a lot, I tried to find it on TT but to no avail.
ED song is also really nice.

Lack of understanding the base of the events, if it wasn't for the "school girls crap" there wouldn't be the alter-verse where we would meet BRS and everything that happens there.

The OP animation also shows a vicious cycle of the girls "Avatars", one aiming at the other while another defends the aimed one and so on. This actually shows the paradox here, you can't make everyone happy, but you can actually try to make a set level of acceptable happiness. One where everyone is content to a degree, but not satisfied.

I'm hoping for the ending to be what I am thinking it will be. If i'm correct, we are up for a nice surprise.

damn! this is getting really fked up. . .
that counselor is freaky!. . .and Im assuming she is the red-eyed girl in that alternate world?

anyways, Im noticing that the characters that have that weird eye looking thing have their alter-egos in that world. . .cause that  basketball chick (that dumped the guy so epicly) doesnt have her eyes like that and she didnt have a "fighter" in that alternate world. . .

so. . . Iono but im liking it

I think there is to it about the eyes, but I also noticed that the less turmoil in the soul of the character the smaller the gears.

Just a guess, could be wrong.

This question is for the OVA, is there a thread for the ova?

Just watched the DVD included with the BRS figma. If my memory serves right, Have you seen the character, Strength on the rips available here and in nyaa? I think I had not seen Strength (waggling her tail) on regular BD/DVD releases. Maybe I am wrong and I'm having a bad memory.

Explain what you mean by Strength character. Provide image if you can.

I think I know who you mean though, in the TV version she didn't show up yet I think.
She is the "avatar" of Mato's childhood friend if my memory serves, so if she doesn't show up in this week's episode for more than 5 seconds, she will show up in the last two episodes I think.

I wonder if i'm correct on this.

The art and their portrayal on TV is kinda retard. The OVA is better. It's like a redesigned from Huke.

A bit, but not entirely, looks like Yuu doesn't want what the sensei wants.

ZOMG this show is actually the best, combines some of the most epic fight scenes in anime i've seen with an emotional psychological mindfuck, and its completely original. The author and the creators of this show have my eternal respect for actually taking on a challenge by making something so different and well crafted, rather than the a-typical anime so common lately.
I'll get round to it someday. SOMEDAY ffs

Watched Ep. 05 while drunk and half asleep at ~2:00 a.m. ... definitely a mistake.  :o ::)

As I recall, I liked it a lot.  Not the least clue what happened.  Something about Yuu is become one of The Forgotten, yet seems to understand a lot more about what's happening then Mato   ?? ??? ??

Will have to re-watch ... I'm thinking Eps. 03 - 05 in one go to grok continuity.

I've been giving the [AFFTW-Hatsuyuki] collaborative effort a shot to see what differences in T/L will show up.  Pretty respectable, effort from what I can tell.  Worth checking into ... seems less localized and they retain honorifics, typesetting pretty nice, too.

omg, it makes me cry how good this show is. extra effect at the start of episode 6 in bringing the op song in before the actual op was ingenious!

I feel very, VERY vindicated in holding out hope that Sayachan-sensei turns out
(click to show/hide)
That cliché has been so overdone to death in so many anime that I would have about cried if they degraded & ruined Black Rock with it.  Enormous amount of heart suddenly 'revealed,' as much as that could be a surprise 'reveal' based upon the previous Eps. & the OVA.

When the title of the episode appeared
(click to show/hide)
... it just immediately seized at my heart and imagination.

*fingerscrossedfingerscrossedfingerscrossed*  They're gonna keep this up.
It's gonna be Really Good ... *fingerscrossedfingerscrossedfingerscrossed*

Episode 7 - as epic as usual, but i just heard theres only gonna be 8 episodes in the series! Is this for real!? I'm hoping not, but wiki says the same, so... WHAT THE #@$% how can this be??? That's 4 less episodes of epicness, and that means next weeks is the last one!

Because it's an epic story, and that's how it will end, epically.

I love this show, things that's transpired in this episode are epic, If blondie also reacts like this, it would mean that everything BRS did was meaningful.
