I'm pretty stunned that there wasn't already a thread for NANA the anime. In fact, just a few months ago I went looking for it and thought I'd found it ... but I'm pro'lly just confuzzled (as usual). So, Tiffanys, thanks for starting one, and starting it so well. This one exists, but doesn't quite measure up:

I can only add (to a few comments left here) that I think NANA is one of the best animes I've ever seen, across all genres. It will make grown men weep, it will make everyone fall in love while slitting their wrists. If you've not downloaded the OST, then Do It Now, everyone. There are very few that can compare; it's chock-full of sugoi!

This project stalled recently to get the available manga uploaded here:

... should anyone wish to take it on, most of the work's already been done (Thank You, Kathy!). And, yah, the manga (incomplete as it is) is fucking amazing. Better than the anime (which is roughly half the currently finished manga). Although, without the music. I just cranked the headphones on with the OST and hit loop until I got through them.

As I stated elsewhere, there absolutely has to be a second season ... and there damned well better be a new song added into the OSTs entitled "My Beautiful Trainwreck." Since I want to believe in a world with Great Justice, NANA's mangaka, Ai Yazawa, is going to make a full recovery and finish this up, which should lead to a third season at least. Otherwise I just won't be able to believe in the Demon Lord anymore.
(click to show/hide)So, anyone else feel that, by the end of the anime, the stage had been set for a Yasu x Ren (failed) relationship ..? The manga clears that possibility up, but I really was wondering about that by the time the currently available anime stopped.
