BakaBT Meet-Up: York, Yorkshire, England.
« on: August 21, 2011, 01:44:24 PM »
This has been in the pipelines for quite some time now but we've not been able to get around to doing it until now.
Several staff members, past and present will be attending as will I. Forum names/real names shant be provided until closer to the time.

The plan is to meet in town early afternoon. Chillax in bars and pubs until late into the night. Progressively getting drunker and drunker.
You're welcome to join us at any point in the day although I do need to make a few things clear.

1) To join the group, you have to be 18+ AND have some form of ID.
2) You'll need smart and durable shoes. There will be plenty of walking and most places don't allow trainers.
3) You have to have your own form of transport to get here and back, and supply your own accomodation. (If needing prices of local places ETC, PM me).

York has a major hub for transportation. We have a train station from those coming from London and other places (megabus).
If crazy enough to fly in as some people are, Leeds is the closest airport and has good, reliable connections to York.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
1) York, North Yorkshire, England.
2) 24th September 2011.
3) Meeting start at ~1200.
4) I'll be wearing a Chinaman hat for easy spotting.
5) I'll give my contact number to people having confirmed they're coming for quicker meet-ups.

Southrop edit:
Here's a facebook event page for you to RSVP to. If you use Facebook, it would be great if you could RSVP. It would certainly make getting final details out to people a lot easier!

Chiyachan edit:
I thought I've give everyone an update before I bail the country until the 20th. I've got myself a PAYG HS on the Orange network to organise and help lost people.
The number is: zero seven nine eight zero one seven four three zero zero.
I will outright reject any unknown or withheld number and will only reply to texts if I need to.
I'm out of the country from 12th-20th so probably won't answer during those times anyway.
Confirmed staff attending: Jarudin, Southrop, Arc-Sama, Jecht and Chiyachan.

SO wish I lived in England...
Parts of it I admired greatly, parts I laughed at till my sides were almost sore;
other parts I read with absolute sorrow,  because I think them utterly false and grievously mischievous...
Many of your wide conclusions are  based upon assumptions...

Would Chiya kick me out even if I wanted to come? I wonder... Didn't I incur her his wrath back then?

I thought your anger was quelled banning me and Chiya>>>Duki.

BTW, no hard feelings. It was sarcasm.

If crazy enough to fly in as some people are, Leeds is the closest airport and has good, reliable connections to York.

Manchester or Hull would be better options if you wish to fly in, since Leeds isn't really a place anyone wants to go. Not unless they want to enter what has been dubbed "England's Official Slums". Also, it's a lot more expensive with only a few places served by Leeds.

Leeds airport is way outside the city. Prices are comparable and flight time is 10 minutes shorter. For me anyway :)

So, yes, I will be at the meet.
Baby, I love the way you move

Considering attending even though I'm not active on these forums at all: whereabouts are you planning on going? Is there a specific pub u want to camp in or is it a barcrawl?

Knowing Chiya they will probably be crawling.

I am not going unfortunately due to the fact I can't get leave till next year.
