I dunno. Maybe it would be a better idea to not buy or sell at all, and just hold on to the stocks for 40-50 years.

Sell when there is a clear decline or when you feel that a decline is imminent. Over 40-50 years, a lot can happen.

But in the stock market, most of that doesn't matter. The market will always recover.
