Skyrim DLC to be 360 exclusive

(1/13) > >>

TMRNetShark:
...for the first 30 days.

So not only do people on the PC and PS3 have to wait 30 days like with Activision's CoD series for DLC, we have no control over a company that buys it's way into exclusive DLC like this. There is a difference between having a game exclusive to your console and paying a developer a certain amount of money to not release content for other systems for "X" amount of days. Is it fair? Why is Bethesda doing this (when they clearly never did it with Fallout 3/NV)?

Am I a little ticked off that Bethesda sold out to MS? Maybe a little bit... Do I have to pay $50 a year for a crappy service on top of paying full price for the DLC? Nope... all I gotta do is wait 30 days and I have that DLC. It's just kinda weird to have a PC dedicated developer sell out and prevent it's PC audience from getting DLC content until a month after the Xbox gets it. I mean, I know the code and the game is already written for all three of the platforms, but because MS has the money from those yearly subscriptions (cause where else does your money go?  ::))... you guys get content when it's ready... while the rest of the gaming world has to wait an artificial amount of time.

I'm so glad Xbox 360 games are coming on multiple discs nowadays... I'm still kinda shocked that Oblivion was able to be put on a DVD9.... now Skyrim will be able to do that too? That's besides the point though... so how to PC/PS3 users feel about this?

Sosseres:
I NEVER buy DLCs. NEVER. I don't wish gaming to go in that direction since it forces me to keep up to date with a title to know new content is released (I hardly even torrent them since I only care about MP games for the time periods one talks about for DLC games). So it doesn't matter to me. :) I likely won't play this game until a year after its release with lots of mods (if it doesn't support any I doubt I'll play it at all).

undetz:
OTOH, suckbox and failstation users won't get mods, which are completely free. Not even if they wait 30 days.

Sixxtysixx:
I usually don't buy DLC right away anyway and as long it appears on Steam eventually I'm fine, even if it is a little frustrating. Although if the first DLC packs are anything like horse armor and a mage tower, Microsoft can keep them lol.

Supai:
If the game is moddable, I would never get it on a console (unless I found a really cheap copy). And as Skyrim is moddable, it's a 100% guaranteed that I get it on PC if (when) I get it.
