Skyrim DLC to be 360 exclusive
TMRNetShark:
I don't know, not everyone cares about mods all the time... though it is a upside to have mods in a PC game. I will be buying Skyrim for PS3 though... so I am subjected to getting DLCs (if I think they really add to the story/location... if it's just armor or a place INSIDE Skyrim that is added, probably won't get it). I just think that PC gaming, especially an RPG, doesn't feel as organic with the mouse/Keyboard. Obviously that's different with an MMORPG, but I'm just saying... controllers are for cool people. :P

Control scheme is always what you are used to. I personally find most schemes based on a gamepad controller in RPGs to be annoying. Especially how bothersome inventory/skill handling can be. Instead of me hitting shift 5 for my 10:th most used spell/skill (or clicking the icon with my mouse) I have to hold modifier 1, move the control stick some direction, hit button one, move controller some other direction, hit button one. Or they go the normal route and only give a limited amount of skills/items on quick buttons.
Take a game such as NWN while playing as a high level wizard. How do you get that to play out in real time with a gamepad? Or NWN 2 SoZ with a party. On a console these have to be turn based to work, which is fine but limited compared to mouse/keyboard schemes.

Ah, you see... you hit on something, control scheme is what you are use to. But we aren't talking about RPGs like NWN where it's top down view and the direction of attacks is not based on aim (like in Fallout or Mass Effect) but on whatever direction you point it in or you "select" targets. I find that point and click RPGs to be annoying, yet they only really work on a PC because of a mouse. There is a difference between NWN RPG's and Skyrim's type of RPGs. I have no problem stopping the flow of gameplay, pick a strategy to use against a recently discovered foe about to kill me, pick a spell or weapon that will help my strategy, and continue fighting. Real time strategy is great, but guess what... you couldn't do real time strategy even on the PC with games like NWN and Dragon Age because you would still need to pause the game to issue a time sensitive heal or CC... so the whole "pausing" issue is kinda debunked. If it's "pause and think your moves" sort of gameplay for the RPGs you are talking about... what's wrong with having radial wheels on a controller? It still works on a console just as well as a PC, I just have to take half a second longer to get to the desired spell (instead of just pressing the predesignated button). So limited? Only by half a second... ;)
Sosseres:
Half a second times 1764 iterations on one playthrough of the campaign. :p

You're trying to make a point about an extra 14.7 minutes to games that last 20+ hours? I can totally see your point why it would be a pain. ::)
