I'm a bit skeptical whether this would be accepted, based on this thread about Shenmue. However, I don't know either whether this contains only game cut scenes or some original material.

Wrong.
This movie was released on a standalone DVD, and contains CG cut scenes from the game as well as added new animation.
Edit:
[ED] version incorrectly encoded in 23.976 fps. Original CG scenes were done in 30 fps.
Does anyone have a version from Arthemis Fansub Productions?
It should be of better quality.
