I've given up on alarms.  They make me angry and I just end up falling asleep again.

Instead I set the "Internal" alarm which seems to work a lot better and seems a lot more successful.  I have yet to miss anything when I just tell myself to wake up at a specific time.
Hax.

It's only difficult to wake up at dusk.

Hahah.  I usually wake up an hour before I'm supposed to, then nap for another hour and then actually wake up.  The time of day doesn't tend to matter. :P

I use an alarm clock and my phone as an alarm clock. I get up when I have to work (6:30 am), but when I don't work, no alarms are on. :)

I guess if the moon is still out when you wake up you're effectively nocturnal .

Using one main alarm nowadays, can't put on snooze unless I give a captcha (gotta love droids).

Lol my sister has one that makes you do math. That ends poorly, I usually have to go turn it off because she just starts covering it with blankets so she can go back to sleep.

I'm gunna leave you anyway.

I literally once threw my alarm clock out of the window after one of my worst nights ever (was just recovering from the flu). Funny thing is, I'd almost hit the mailman with it  :o Comes with the job, right?  :P

I've learned my lesson with alarm clocks. I don't use an alarm on my phone anymore and my alarm clock is across the room because I have a tendency to grab and chuck them at the nearest wall.........

I work nights, sleep in three 2 hour chunks, and get up to take care of every day things 5 hours before I need to leave for work.  I have no need for an alarm clock.

^ Nope, it's definitely doable, but the intervals between snoozing are much shorter.

Yeah I know, the napping is more efficient, but it can lead to long term instability and crashing. Unless of course, you're one the lucky few that can pull it off. I can go months sleeping 5-6 hours a night, but eventually I crash and sleep for like 12 hours. Lucky people don't have that problem :(

I know a guy that sleeps 3-4 hours a night, and has for nearly his entire adult life.
I wish.

I'm gunna leave you anyway.

I used to do 2 to 3 hours on a consistent basis but the hallucinations and depression weren't worth it.  My current sleep schedule is dictated more by my dog and roommate than any personal desire.  I get up around 6 to let the dog out and around 8 to coordinate with the roomie.  Honestly even 6 hours is more than I've ever felt necessary.  I feel more rested after 4 to 6 hours of sleep and 2 to 3 hours of deliberate relaxation than after 8 to 12 hours of sleep.

I have a digital rubber Ikea alarm clock. In retrospect, I can see why they've made it surrounded by rubber as I've probably thrown that clock across the room at least a hundred times over the last few years because the sound is annoying.

I've recently replaced it with the alarm on my Phone - playing music of my choice has made waking up less painful (and less violent).

And no, I'm not a violent person at all, I just hate alarm clocks haha

I don't use an alarm clock.
It seems not to matter how late I stay up, I always wake up between 5:30 am to 6:15 am.
I don't bother to start getting ready for work (shower, get dressed, make & eat breakfast, brush teeth, shave) until 7:00 am.
I'm out the door usually between 7:50 am and 8:00 am and usually get to work on time.

Somehow if I'm disturbed even when sleeping it pushes the time when I want to wake up, so that means alarm clocks for me are no-no.

I wake up to Pink Floyd - Time because I need something loud and disturbing to be able to wake up.

Hahah i know what you mean.  I have a bit of the same problem.  Alarm clocks either make me cranky and stubborn, or i don't even notice them going off.
