Don't go telling people to use Windex on their monitors (or screens) because you don't know what kind of coating they may or may not have. Also, Why do you feel its necessary to use Windex? In my 18 years with computer screens I have never known them to get dirty enough that soap and water wasn't enough. In fact I have no memory of using more than water and spit (spit due to convenience) and I know for certain I've never used a cleaning product.

Don't misunderstand me, I'm not saying Windex wont mess up your specific screen and that you should use it.  I'm just saying I do and Don't have any screens that care.  Most screens I've seen don't have special noticeable coatings like AR, but I don't look at TVs so that maybe why.

My personal Rule of Thumb for windex. As long as it's not that soft plastic matte thing on some LCDs it's ok. Glass is perfectly fine.

But seriously. A bit of breath, your shirt and elbow grease is great for any screen smaller than like 5". If you need to whip out a cleaning kit all the time for this and that...

1. Stop touching your screen.
2. You might want to check yourself out for OCD.
