If Oppai ever went on a car racing, I can't imagine what would happen...:P
Parts of it I admired greatly, parts I laughed at till my sides were almost sore;
other parts I read with absolute sorrow,  because I think them utterly false and grievously mischievous...

Formula 1 cars are built to have the ultimate downforce.
No they're not. They're built to have just enough downforce for the current track to get through it the fastest.

Quote
Remember Juan Pablo Montoya who raced for Williams/McLaren from 2001 to 2006? He was a good racer, won 7 races.
How about Räikkönen who went to race NASCAR with just one test drive before and finished above average? Against guys who have been doing the sport for their wholes lives I think that calls for something. So either NASCAR isn't really that hard or over half of the guys are total losers.

Quote
Current Formula 1 cars have 740-800 hp with enough downforce in the world while Nascars still maintain 900 hp in cars with far less aerodynamic properties
Formula 1 cars are limited in power, downforce and pretty much everything by rules to their current level.
Not to mention NASCARs drive ovals compared to something like Monte Carlo or Suzuka. Take away their tilted speedways and they're toast.  ;)

I would go ahead and have you look up some of those facts you claim. If even the slightest wing or fin on a F1 car is damaged, the car cannot keep up with the other driver's undamaged cars. They spend months in wind tunnels figuring out the best aero packages to be the fastest. The engines can be tuned wirelessly without ever needing to go to the pits. Lastly, the element of winning doesn't rely on the skills of the driver... But with the equipment that you have that gives you the edge.

In Nascar, to win requires strategy, the skill of the driver to pass other cars (it's harder than it looks), and know how of changing the car's attributes during pit stops (adding tire pressure is an example). The entire field of Nascar is only split by maybe 5 mph because all the equipment is reletively the same. It's cool if you think Nascar is easier than F1. No skin off my nose, seeing as how an F1 car costs upwards of 6 million dollars when a stock car only costs around 250,000 dollars. I've been to both 61 and Nascar races... In F1, you just see the cars go by whatever section your at. In Nascar, if you sit anywhere above the 10th row at ANY speedway, you will see the entire race then entire time.

So not only is Nascar more fun to watch, it's cheaper and the competition is closer. In F1, it's not uncommon at all to see the first place car have a 30 to 60 second lead over second place. That's boring.

So, hater... Hate all you want... F1 is a boring type of racing.

What we have here is a difference of opinions. Just saying, don't bother.

I'm gunna leave you anyway.

Of course you can't keep up if you lose a wing, D'uh! It's the same for NASCAR but that doesn't mean they try to generate maximum downforce. Too much will slow you down on straights and too little on the corners. You'll want to balance it right to depending on the course.

As for the driver skills against car abilities, why don't we see one team taking double wins all the time then?  ::)

If you want to watch people drive circle all the time be my quest but I do not find derby's that entertaining. At least in the case of horses there's some sport involved.

Because we can!

Where did I criticize the skills required in NASCAR?

Quote
Makes me wonder how fast a brain is going that wouldn't be able to enjoy F1 racing vs Nascar.

I meant that in the sense that some people claim they can't figure out F1 racing because it's "too complicated", or "NASCAR is the worlds greatest automotive sport" which is questionable because it's a totally subjective belief. I'm speaking for the spectators and not the drivers themselves.

Obviously you can enjoy both NASCAR and F1.

And because it was NASCAR, the token redneck complement was required. Don't worry, it stands just the same with the token Texan with Big things.

I never claimed Nascar to be the best racing venue... Are you kidding me?

Rally racing is the best!

I was just trying to make a point that IMO that Nascar is more fun to watch than F1... live and televised.

NASCAR is more fun to watch in the collisions.

F1 is more fun to watch for the racing itself.

But this is an IMO.

Not long after I got my license, raced an acquaintance down a public street from a red light.  It was late and few cars were out.  Soon there were flashing blue lights behind us.  I quickly pulled over and the cop told me to stay right there, then proceeded to chase the other guy which kept going and turned into a neighborhood.  After awhile he came back with the other guy in the back seat and told me to get in too.

All I got was a warning, then he let me go.  I found out later that he charged the other guy everything that was possible.  Street racing, reckless driving, evading, etc.  Losing his license.  I think if he didn't try to get away, we'd both would have had heavy fines.  But since he did, the cop let me go with just a warning to spite him.

Cause there was only one of him and two of you. Plus your "acquaintance" was hoping that the cop would snag you first while he got away. The cop didn't see it that way... and charged the person who thought they could evade the law.

If you know your caught, be honest. If you think a cop is bluffing (in other cases, not street racing), call him out on it.

The very best you can do is never admit fault. I have been pulled over for street racing, speeding, and hooning.

I have only ever been charged twice though, one for street racing and one for speeding. When you get pulled over never go 'I am sorry officer for (insert crime)' it is better to start with 'Hello officer how are you today? How can I help you' (hand your licence over right away though they always look at them, atleast here). Cops need proof that you broke a law, and most the time there is no solid proof for it.

If you have cruise control on your car (and shows some form of text on the cluster) hit it before you pull over completely, so that the light remains on the dash. If your done for speeding it is a very good way to get out of a ticket if its only a little over the limit, that way you can say that your speed limit was set to (I always say 1-2km/h under the speed limit never the exact speed limit).

As for hooning, I always used the 'I just brought my car, and it has a bit more torque then I am used to, the light truck tyres on the back dont really help matters. I will try to easy the power on even slower next time' Or if it is raining 'Sorry officer, these tyres don't seem to do too well with accellerations from stand stills while in the wet. I am looking at getting better tyres but it is hard to find better brands for this car.' Of course only use those excuses if the cop goes 'I noticed you spun your wheels for awhile there.'
What's that noise coming out your face?

i always go with How can i help you officer ?  And you play the part inquisitively. Im white so cops usually dont have a predisposed hatred of me. Always ask the officer why he had pulled you over and ask for a warning nicely first most of the times a cop will give you a warning if your courteous and make his life as easy as possible IE pulling into a place he can safely walked up to your vehicle and tell you how much of a fuck head you are for doubling the speed limit or something along those lines. Apologize ask for warning hope for the best. If he shoots it down in jersey you get to demand to get a print out from the radar on how fast he clocked you

The one and only time I got pulled over, that didn't fly at all. I wasn't speeding till I tried to pass a semi, which was able to speed up from 10kmph below speed limit to 15 over in a matter of maybe 4-6 seconds or around 2-3 blocks distance. (Blocking me the whole time). I was a lead foot at the time so it was somewhat shocking to me.

I was clocked going 26 over (which is nothing because I used to drive 50kmph over pretty much any normal day. I was tired or something that day).

Straight up. Before I had time to answer or do anything.

"Hey man, clocked you doing 26 over (106kmph in an 80 zone). In this area, I'd let you slide for anything 15 and less, but I caught you doing higher. I'll just write you down for 15 over. You'll get 3 demerits and you'll have X amount of time to dispute it. I'll need your license and registration please."

Like an idiot I just had to hand him the info. Which he was somewhat annoyed with because it wasn't my car (parent's) and there was a shitload of expired registrations in the glove (Luckily I found the legit one soon enough).

People think I'm bullshitting when I used to say I'd drive up to 70kmph over the limit (I don't do it any more, I "grew up" I guess). But that was when I drove an Acura EL 1.6L 1997 @127HP (Based on the Civic. Highway speeds usually I'd drive around the 170-175 range) or the Honda Odyssey 2004 @240HP (Highway speeds I've hit 180 before with 5 other passengers and luggage).

My friend told me once, "I didn't believe you when you said you made it to the location in about half the time. I thought you were exaggerating. I believe you now." (Friend in back seat of the Acura. Me going down freeway @ 70kmph over the limit casually weaving through traffic. She admitted the ride was smooth too) We were 45 mins late for a Thanksgiving dinner. We got there like 10-20 mins late and beat some of the other guests.

Would I continue doing this? I don't trust my vehicles enough at the moment not to fail me. I'll on occasion still hit 150-160kmph on the highways, but average maybe 120-130 overall to keep my eyes peeled for cops and whatnot. (I don't use radar detector or anything and have never been pulled over since the first time). But I'm also more wary of being "safer". Dunno... life experience took away my drive for adrenaline or something.

The problem, obviously, with the kind of speeds you're talking about is, if you get into a wreck, someone is likely to die or get injured very badly.  If I got my conversion right, speed limits on FL highways most commonly vary from 88kmph to 112kmph, or 55mph to 70mph.  I generally go between 0 and 10mph over the speed limit depending on where I'm at, and almost never go faster than 75mph / 120kmph even on the highway.  I have hit 100mph / 160kmph maybe once or twice while driving cross-country, but that's not something I commonly do.

I've had people as recently as a few months ago change lanes on the highway when they are literally RIGHT FUCKING NEXT TO ME and nearly run me off the road at 70mph.  I've had people cut me off at 60 or 70mph, causing me to slam on my brakes.  And twice I've had people deliberately speed up and try to put me into a fucking wall at 45 or 50mph when I'm trying to merge lanes when I'm trying to get on the highway and the lane I'm in is ending.  My experiences in FL have generally been that there are way too many people who are either blatantly assholes, or who shouldn't be driving at all, or who are not paying attention when they should be.  No matter how good a driver you are, all it takes is one jackass to ruin your day.

florida is filled with old people and illegal immigrants, everyone else who doesnt fit in those categories that currently lives in florida has likely spent most of their life being cooked in the sun. Expect very little from these "people"

Hey, I'm a Florida native, and I assure you, we reach for the sunblock pretty quickly in the heat.  We're used to it, we know what to do.  You're thinking of the snowbirds who aren't used to the heat.  Their brains boil in their skulls, they go into a delirium, they get behind the wheel, and then they start running people over.  It's a widely known fact.

no i mean you crazy tards that live in that heat you go crazy and you dont notice that you are crazy you only occasionally notice when another crazy asshole is doing something more crazy.

And last time i checked sunblock doesnt stop heat from existing. So if its 100 with 98% humidity its still 100 degrees sunblock or not

Christ I hope you don't seriously believe that good sir.

In other news in the college town I'm currently living, there are way too many nice cars here by the way, I haven't gotten into a car in the last 2 weeks that didn't do 20kmh over the speed limit where possible. Coming from a big(er) city where traffic clogs during the day it's really nice to hop onto the open road and just blaaaaast. Night driving is still the best.

I'm gunna leave you anyway.

The "unofficial official" speed limit here is 10kmph over the limit.

Highway speeds are 110kmph here. 80kmph is a large roadway here. 100kmph is freeway speeds.
