I would say that the mere fact that you cannot get a virus in Linux is enough to make it good.

It's also $500-$600. The price of a lower high-end computer... with 6-cores, the latest graphics card, and 6 GBs of memory.
Go with something cheaper and actually supports flash (why Apple and Steve Jobs ever thought Flash was trash is on fucking dope).

You can't get a computer with that setup for 500-600, I have that and it was 3000 +

I would beg to differ:
CPU
6 GBs of Memory
PSU
ATI 6850 Videocard
Motherboard
1 TB harddrive
Computer Case
DVD Drive
Grand total? $580 with shipping included. :P
So either you paid too much, or your system is not "lower" high-end like I mentioned. Don't buy a tablet, buy a PC.

he meant an i7-970 and a pair of gtx 590... you cant even get a gtx 590 for 600$...

Flash benefits the consumer more then Apple. Free videos etc is not something they're into.

Exactly, tablets are not good for anything else than media playback device and web browser. The web experience will be severely crippled on iPad because of the lack of Flash support.

I accidentally tested this theory with Windows 7 recently. I ran it without a firewall (except the router's firewall), no AV software, no anti-spyware, anti-adware, anti-malware, email scanner, yada yada yada you get the point. I ran it with no protection other than my own intellect. Even the Windows firewall and whatever else comes with it was disabled. It's been like this for over 18 months now, and so I figured i'd probably have a couple of new virus' around. Installed the newest (free) version of AVG and ran a full system scan. Nothing. AVG must be defective, uninstall, try the latest (free) version of Avast! Same result.
18 months, zero protection, not so much as a single bit of spyware. So what can we conclude? Whilst it's true nobody makes virus' for Linux, the only time this becomes a factor is when you're a moron who clicks every link that pops up.

And I meant lower high end... which does not equal i7-970 and a pair of overpriced videocards. Too bad for him that his performence is only about 20% more but at a significantly steeper price point. Hell, even the GTX 590 are at the same level as the ATI 6990/6950 at nearly a quarter of the price. So yeah, he over paid... :P
Just like how everyone overpays for a damn iPad 2 for whatever reason. Hell, I honestly don't get it. Is this the same phenomen that little kids/teenager/adults alike that flock to Call of Duty? hahah
