It was already envisioned by me. Its perfect. It's not just some new technology hype that I'm jumping on, I don't do that.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA. Seriously, it's too easy to just say, "Bullshit".

ANY will work fine. You just want a note taking software and a browser. What the hell else do you need? You don't need games, or a phone, or 3G or anything else. Just to echo what was stated earlier, you don't need a tablet. You want a tablet.

However, just to give another kick to the horse.

Cost:
Acer Icona
Asus A or W series. (A = Android, W = windows)

Eye Candy:
iPad 2 - OG. People treat it as a standard, but it's its own category because it sorta did it first.
Sony S - Sony tickles the eye in general. Invented/Innovated a shitload of stuff. Not the strongest for marketing though.
Blackberry playbook - Totally different OS than the rest of the pack. Pretty much the ONLY tablet designed purely for productivity and not gaming.
Samsung Galaxy - Samsung tickle the eye but in a different way than Sony or Apple

Beyond this, I seriously can't understand why you'd keep asking questions. If you need affirmation for your purchase, find someone in real life to do so. You know your own budget and preferences, so need to keep asking us.

LOL
I WANT IT
LOL
HA
HA
HA

I still don't know which one.
I like posting my stuff here because I like the replies people give as they're the best :)

Dude, my rock totally has 3G... it's called a Brickberry 9700! :P

No seriously... my Blackberry has survived a lot of turmoil. Technically it has rock like elements in it? Ok, I know calling silicon "rock" is stretching it... but at least Apple didn't invent it/make it.

What the fuck kind of bias is this?  And I promise you 99% of consumers will not need some of those features.

And wtf, some things would not be on tablet anyway, physical keyboard?  WTF?

I had the 9700 too. It crashed a lot. I had to do a battery pull every couple days.

iPad 2 vs Asus EEE Pad Transformer

There's many other comparisons out there already, but what they all show is that the iPad2 is the most responsive.  Something that needs to be improved with the Android OS.

But if I were to get a tablet now, it would be the Asus EEE Pad Transformer.  I could care less about proprietary Flash support when there's HTML5, but the Transformer's other extras is just too sexy...as well as the price.

Hahahaha, got you mad!  ;D
Besides it's not biased if the comparison doesn't have those features either. Are you telling me that 99% of consumers would not want Camera for photo/video, Flash support, USB, Card Reader, HD display and third party apps? Really???

A tablet is something I would dick around with. Personally, the Iconia, Transformer and Playbook are the most interesting ones at the moment. I have an iPhone, an iPad 2 has no "new" or interesting features to me.

Cost wise, Iconia is the one I'd consider, but the playbook is exceptionally unique as well and more geared towards what I'd use it for.

Or, I could wait to see if Lenovo's $199 tablet is worth considering (end of September supposedly)
This is your home now. So take advantage of everything here, except me.

Tomoya... he's just pointing out that people who think that tablets are the "future" (especially Apple's iPad's) are sorely wrong. Why are we dumbing down our computers just so it looks cool or can have a big touchscreen? There are netbooks that do all of those features that the iPad 2 cannot AND it has comparable battery life. Not only that, but I can do everything my home PC can do (except maybe play some demanding games... but Age of Empires II works just fine on a netbook while I have to play Angry Birds on my iPad) without spending as much money on an iPad.

PC > laptop > netbook > Any non-Apple tablet > Gameboy Advance > Nintendo DS > Gameboy Micro > Any stone > My Brickberry > iPad 2

Just some cold hard facts.

Nah, my problem is that iPhone has more features than an iPad making iPad completely useless in all ways imaginable. Also, rocks are fun  :P

I think we should actually be fair, Ace. I can totally throw an iPad at a passing car and still get the same effect as if I was throwing a rock. I would probably get more entertainment out of it because that person would be so confused as to why a random iPad was thrown at his/her car.

Again that goes back to the nature of the market. I'm sure they already have the technology of creating a tablet that rivals a gaming pc, the technology isn't the issue, it's profit vs giving what the public want.
This isn't a communist market where products are built with quality and meant to last forever. They're designed to be constantly upgraded every 3-4 months or 6-7 months or 12 months.
To me it seems like the companies are banding together under democratic solutions to rip the public off together rather then fight it out like dogs, but thats to a certain extent.
And no we are not dumbing down our computers. The tablets will only get better and better as the years pass by, just like phones.

No. facebook games, yeah. But the websites themselves operate with proper W3C technologies - HTML, PHP and CSS. Flash is useful for games only and if browser companies were smart, they'd stop supporting Flash. Flash was useful back in the 90s but nowadays it is a relic, doomed to die within the next 10 years.

Lol, nobody gives a fuck about HTML5, but I bet you can't browse the web without running into Flash most of the time. Just look at Youtube and around 80% of all videos on the internet.  ::)

You say Flash will die within a decade, but from what I see here, it will just evolve and be used even more in the future.

If there was no flash the internet wouldn't be the same. Unless you invent something better quite your whining.  ;D

Did you know?
YouTube and some other major video sites serve raw videos for mobile devices! Not only you don't need flash it's actually more efficient because you are not using that Adobe POS to play a video.
Now you know!
