Well you've got a point. It end exactly where the first episode starts.
But when I was watching the show at first i was wondering if Mei was really the one. (click to show/hide)The dead one.And this OVA shows that she's not.
But yeah. If we consider that OVA is the begining, it's worth watching first.

A lot of groups ( from the few that did the ova) named the OVA as episode 00, i'd say, it makes sense considering how it goes.

(click to show/hide)I haven't seen the OVA yet but if it reveals that Mei isn't the dead one then I'd think that takes a lot of mystery out of the story, since it was always interesting contemplating whether it really was her or if that would be too obvious so it wasn't her.
