They may not remember details like Reiko, but remember the calamity as a whole and it having happened?
I kinda wondered why they had to hide it at all, as opposed to displaying it somewhere completely obvious; then again when dealing with the supernatural, the author's imagination would have been the limit - any plot devices deemed boring would be countered somehow. Still makes you wonder. :P

(click to show/hide)They don't forget right away, their memory of the events fades over time. Even Mei and Kouichi will eventually forget all about it. So, as long as they could still remember it, they recorded it for future class 3-3 students to find, like happened in the past with that tape. As to why it was these two that did the recording, I don't know, though it might be because they were the closest to seeing it all happen (the two main characters aside).

Sorry for saying this, but I seriously can't find any group with the tag or name CGi, I even went over to the fansub group list at animelist.
Heheh, sorry.
I know Coalgirls recently did this anime on BD, should I go with them or...?
