I've done the same in an Acura EL 1.6 I used to own. That thing had like 3 inches of clearance. I got stuck a lot, but rarely had to do with the tires. Mainly to do with clearance issues of the car.

I know snow tires have increased abilities in the winter. I'm not denying that. Just saying anyone should be able to drive a car with ASRs. To me, snow tires are like cheating. It's one thing to admit you need the increased performance, it's another to believe you're skillful because your abilities to handle the weather exceeds that of others. Snow tires aren't normalizing, they're performance enhancing.

I know I can drive better with snows. I'm just stubborn in the sense that I believe ASRs are adequate and the practice on them give me an edge the moment I swap to snows.

Ah, yeah Id agree with you, the Average person Should be fine with All-Seasons. I drive a NX2000 and Classic SE-Rs, they dont have any clearance at all either and if it wasnt for the tires actually digging through the snow I would have been done.

Where did I complain about my infiniti? Though that vehicle has almost killed me a few times already. Prior owners didn't take care of it properly. Frozen brake lines = BAD. Found out there was a lot of moisture mixed with the brake fluid.

EDIT: It's -20 here with a windchill making it feel like -30C. Bring us all your global warming fucktards to our city! They'll recant super fucking fast.

BTW. ASRs are a rather large group by definition. You've got tires that won't work during winter and tires that won't work on hot asphalt etc. You've also got tires that work moderately on a lot of different surfaces and temperatures and great on one. It's always a tradeoff and for regular people there's no difference in normal driving.
The difference comes when you're in a limit situation, say dodging a child running to the street in front of you or braking on ice not to ram someone doing the dodging etc. (Or on a rally circuit, otherwise known as a road in eastern Finland). In the end it comes down to how lucky you're feeling about not having shitty enough luck.

I'm fine with it. It's just the flash freezing creating ice rinks on the roads that's a slight issue prior to the ploughs or sanders going through.
